    How Did We Get Here?

    You said you loved me
    You said you'd stay with me,
    Forever,
    You said you would always be with me,
    You said you would never leave me
    No matter what.

    But now,
    You're a world away.
    Lost within a crowded room,
    Drinking your troubles away,
    While, in another land it seems,
    I'm here, laying on a bed,
    Looking up at the stars,
    Wishing you were with me.
    Thinking about those Christmases,
    The birthdays that you were with me for.

    I'm here, 
    Laying on a bed, within a house I could never call home,
    Crying,
    Wasting limited hopes.
    On you.
    Hoping you'll give me a sign. Send me a card.
    So that I could just see your name.
