[18]//REYNA//
Reyna was getting really annoyed with the mass amount of L notes.
She was in chemistry class sitting next to Annabeth's empty desk when she spotted a folded piece of torn out notebook paper. A sinking feeling in her stomach, she subtly grabbed it and unfolded it.
'I've got a mission for you, darling Rey-Rey. Octavian Augur skipped all his classes today. He's stuck out on the lake. Normally this wouldn't interest you, but he's going to die, sweetie. We're going to slit his pale little throat and dump him in the water. Of course, we won't, if you come out here and tell us what you've been hiding about this journal. Kayla will meet you at the edge, honey. Toodles!
-L xx'
Shit. Reyna slipped the note in her pocket and asked permission to leave. She wasn't in the lab that Lacy was killed in, but it looked identical, so she used that as her excuse to leave. She stopped by her room to grab the journal. Then she slipped out of the building and made her way to the icy lake.
True to L's word, Kayla greeted her at the edge of the lake. "Follow me," she said coldly, and starting shuffling on the ice. Reyna followed, trying not to laugh at how awkward it was to shuffle across the ice.
Soon, they approached a skinny blonde figure standing in front of someone clothed in black.
"What do you want now?" Octavian whined, and Reyna fought the urge to roll her eyes. "Oh, it's you. Are you working with them?"
"No, I'm here to save your ass." Reyna snapped. "I have the journal. Why do you want it?"
"Why do you think?" Kayla replied slowly. Reyna almost felt bad for her as she spotted the silver headset. The poor girl was still repeating.
"Here. Take it." Reyna shoved the journal into her hands. "Now let him go." Saving a life was more important than reading someone's journal, even if she thought she could be in love with that person.
The person in the hoodie released Octavian, who started whining and complaining and walking away.
Once he was out of hearing range, Kayla fixed Reyna with a cold glare. "Do you know who that journal belongs to?" She asked calmly.
"No," Reyna confessed. "I thought it was Rachel, but it doesn't seem right."
"You're right. It isn't her." Kayla stated eerily.
Reyna narrowed her eyes. "Then who is it?"
"I suggest you check the writing against something." Kayla said, giving Reyna a smug smirk.
Reyna knelt on the ice and started looking through her purple bag. Kayla plopped the journal down next to her. Reyna's hand curled around a crumpled paper and she pulled out a note from Calypso. There was no way it could be her, but she might as well check. She opened the journal to the first few pages and checked it. Similar, but not a match.
"Go farther in." Kayla urged.
Reyna followed her instruction and flipped near the back. She held the note next to the writing.
