The things you'll need:
~ Sugar Cookie Mix [Betty Crocker]
~ 1 stick of butter
~ 1 egg
~ A big mixing bowl
~ Mixer [preferably hand mixer]
~ Rolling Pin
~ Cookie Cutters
~ Icing of various colors

Let's put it all together!

Directions:
~ First you'll take your big mixing bowl and add the sugar cookie mix. Then you're gonna add the stick of butter and the egg. Next, mix it with the hand mixer for about 2 minutes at a medium speed.
~ Once your dough is all mixed together and it doesn't stick to your hands, put it on a floured surface. [one of Ro's techniques is to add flour on top of the mix after putting it on the floured surface] Roll the dough out with the rolling pin and start cutting out shapes! [Ro used circle, square, triangle for the poop emoji, a big heart, and a small heart.]
~ Peel out the excess dough from your shapes and transfer your cookies into the baking sheet with a spatula.
~ Heat your oven to 350°F and bake your cookies between 5-7 minutes yet keep an eye to see if the sides turn golden brown, that's when you'll know they're ready. After they are done baking, make sure they've had a long time to cool so it can be decorated easily. [Ro put them on a drying rack for about half an hour.]
~ After frosting the base of the cookie, let them sit for about 10 minutes before you put color on top of it. [that way the colors won't bleed into each other]
~ Start decorating the cookies into any type of emoji you like! There are many options!

Ro's Tip with Royal Icing:
~ When frosting a cookie, outline the shape of the cut-out and let it cool for about a second. Then, you fill it in. [some people use a toothpick or scribe tool to help set the frosting evenly]

Bonus Technique - Poop Emoji
~ Use a small heart cookie cutter [the tip] and cut three triangles on each side of the triangle cookie cut-out. Round the edges with your fingers and push the top of the triangle down gently while curving it to make the tip of the cut-out round; by doing so it will give the triangle a poop shape.
