Brynnly looked over at Adam Ruzek- her childhood best friend who sat on her bed, and she gave him a small smile, her hand placed carefully over her stomach as she was ready to give him the new information.
"I'm going to the academy." He said, afraid to see her reaction to the news.
"What?" She asked, her heart breaking as she tried to process what he said.
"I, uh, I'm going and I'm starting tomorrow." He said and Brynnly clenched her jaw and stood up.
"Get out." She said and Adam sighed and spoke.
"Baby, c'mon." He said and she shook her head and pointed to the door.
"Out. Get out!" She exclaimed and Adam rolled his eyes and walked to the door.
"If I walk out this door, you're never going to see me again." He said and Brynnly nodded and spoke.
"Don't let the door hit you on the way out then." She said and he scoffed and slammed the door shut.
Brynnly closed her eyes and placed her hands on her stomach, "It's just going to be me and you, little one. No one will ever hurt us." She said and clenched her jaw, completely erasing Adam from her mind and life.
