Previously on A New Life

"...Look I know a lot of us are having doubts but we cant be doing that. We are the Teen Titans and we fight villains on a daily basis. We will find our kids and we will get them back no matter what. even if that means doing things we dont want to.....teaming up with someone we dont want to" I said

"Dick....you dont mean" Slade asked

"Yeah....I do.....its the only way

I walked away after I said that. I dont want to do this but these are the young justice villains, not ours. Plus I know we cant take them on by ourselves, if they took our kids then they have a plan and they are probably teaming up with someone. I walked to the gym without even realizing but im already here so might as well stay here. I started to climb the latter to the trapeze and started to do flips and tricks. 

I was in the middle of doing a trick when I saw dad walk in and start watching me. I rolled my eyes but kept doing jumps and flips

"What do you want dad" I asked 

"I want to see how you are doing, and by the way you are doing those flips you are not doing so good" He said 

I sighed cause I knew he was right, half of these are half flips and im not doing as good as I usually do. I got back to the platform and started to go down the latter

"Come spar with me" Dad said 

"its 7, shouldnt you be getting ready for a job or something"  

"I have no jobs and if I did they can wait, you need to talk to someone" He said 

With that we started to spar. We sent punches after punches to each other and some kicks here and there. We were fighting for a while before he started to talk again

"Are you sure about teaming up with them" He asked 

"Look I dont want to do it, but its the only way. They know the people who took our kids better than anyone" 

"You do know that you did fight these guys to right" 

"Yeah I know but it wasnt as much as them. Why are you trying to talk me out of doing this when you know its the only way also" I asked 

"Because im worried for you Dick. You confronted the YJ after 9 years, then you figure out that Robin got passed down without your permission, and you have 3 younger brothers. Then you talk to Batman again. And now your kid has been kidnapped along with your nieces. All in one day. Now you have to team up with both teams that betrayed you" 

I punched him harder than I wanted to at the end. Then i just stood there breathing hard, I didnt even realize that it has been only one day that all of this has gone down until dad just said that

"Your right, Im not alright but what other choice do we have dad. We have to get the kids back, if that means working with people that I dont want to then I will swallow my pride and work with them again" 

It was silent for a while all you could hear was heaving breathing coming from both of us. Dad sighed and then walk over to me and put a hand on my back

"Ok.... I will be with you every step, I want to get the girls back as much as you do. For now lets get rest, we will need it if you are caring out your plan"
