Chapter 13-Amias' POV

In the time it took Reynolds to turn his head to spot me, I was already upon him. I crashed into him with all my force, knocking him off a still sobbing Azula.

With a growl of fury, I sank my teeth into his shoulder, biting down until I met the bone. Reynolds groaned in pain, his hands wrapping around my torso to shove me off.

                I didn’t stay down long.

Spurred on by a fury more powerful than the earth itself, I charged him again. My head bashed into his chest and he flew across the clearing. He landed with a thud on his back.

“Amias, stop this nonsense!” Reynolds gasped, winded. His words vibrated with the power of an Alpha and a small part of me responded to his order. A part of me that was quickly slaughtered by the rage inside.

Without warning, I pounced at him again, my claws raking down his chest. Four red lines appeared, oozing blood. A whine left Reynolds’ lips as he grabbed one of my legs and squeezed for all his was worth. I howled as the crack of bones filled the clearing.

“Don’t you dare let him win, Amias,” Aku growled inside me. “Not after everything he’s done to our mate!

The pain radiating from my ankle was excruciating in every sense of the word. The Alpha didn’t loosen his grip, looming over me with barely concealed malice. His eyes had turned green with fury.

“Change back, Amias,” he ordered. When I didn’t immediately do as instructed, his eyes turned cruel. “Change back or I’ll hurt her even more.”

My eyes sought out Azula. She was dragging her body slowly from the clearing in a desperate attempt to escape. Anger pulsed inside me. She was too weak to fucking walk!

Trying to reign in my temper, I willed Aku to retreat, if only for a little while. He growled before eventually complying with my request. My skin itched as the fur receded back. I looked down at the leg Reynolds was holding, which turned out to be my left arm in human form. It hung down at an unnatural angle; I could see parts of the bone sticking up through the skin. I swallowed before I was sick.

“How did my little pet escape? A Wolf’s Bane circle is almost inescapable...” Reynolds sneered, generally bemused. He pinned my other arm down when I went to punch him. I spat in his face in retaliation. I watched as it dribbled down his cheek. He made no move to wipe it away.

“I thought you’d already been housetrained,” he mocked, his grip on my arms tightening slightly. I growled at him, wanting to hurt him so badly it was almost painful.

“Why are you doing this to her?” I demanded, trying to divert my attention away from the pain in my arms. But his next words made something snap inside me.

                “Because I can.”

Without thinking, I snapped my head forward. My forehead collided with Reynolds’ nose. He released me with a yell, falling backwards. I jumped out from under him and elbowed him in the neck. All the breath left him in a rush.

Before he could even lift an arm to strike back, I straddled him, using my weight to stop all movement from his waist down. I pinned his arms down with my good hand, the other arm elbowing him in the sensitive parts of his stomach. Each hit I dished out sent a near crippling agony coursing through me, but my need to cause Reynolds’ pain exceeded my need to stop any hurting on my part.
