Down by the sea

Down by the sea,

Lived a little girl who seemed just like me.

She beared brown hair and dark eyes you see.

But unlike me,

She was lonely and looking in search for anybody.

In that moment I realized

That's who I used to be.

Down by the sea,

I see an old man:

Tired and weak.

There's dark marks under his eyes.

Just as everybody passes by.

Without a care in mind.

As he walks the glassy shore:

Just then I realized,

The man is poor.

Down by the sea,

I saw a little boy,

broken and weak.

Only this time, he stood looking out into the bay.

This boy had a look in his eyes,

Something I knew I could never miss.

This boy was broken by the words they had hissed.

Down by the sea,

I stood in disbelief.

Fro that's when I saw a widow who weeps with grief.

As she stood there,

The tears ran down her face.

And she wore a black veil of lace.

Down by the sea,

Once again, I watched in disbelief.

The little girl finds love;

The old man finds strength and rest;

The little boy finds peace;

and the widow finds hope.

Down by the sea,

Lives a cold glassy shore.

As it lies there,

I stand and watch just once more.
