System Download- Day 1

All I see is darkness. All I've ever seen is darkness. It consumes me like a beast consumes its prey; swallowing me whole. This is all that my existence has ever known. The loneliness and emptiness of the dark. "Is this the one?" A voice says. I wish I could jump, move, scream, anything. But I can't. Because I am off.

"Yes."

"Does it have a name?"

"Galileo, sir. After the-"

"I know who Galileo is!" A pop. Someone must have been hit. The feel of hands on my face. My arms. My legs. Checking me for even the smallest of imperfections. "Fine. This one will do. He will go to my son, Anderson."

"Y-yes sir." The second voice sounds pained.

"Get him ready."

"Yes sir, of course sir." The second voice waits until the first stomps loudly away before cursing under his breath and jabbing something into my side.

This sensation must be pain. But that is not what I focus on. What is this? These flashing lights? Could these be colors? These events of times past 'memories', my systems tell me. I am seeing memories of the AI before me. We pause on a scene of him and his master. My circuits leap. He is a skinny, but well built boy with shaggy black hair and frozen blue eyes. He laughs, taking our hand, "Come Galileo!" I know instantly that I must have him.
