RIPLEY POV today we were in the studio and michelle and emily had called summer jackie richelle and i to learn a small group. we'd be performing it at the convention and also competing for a solo.
while running it with michelle i noticed kingston and ozzy from the side of my eye, but ignored them as we continued. "ok guys, that's good. run it later but for now go get water. catch your breath." michelle told us a we nodded heading to the locker room
later on we took up studio one while the boys booked studio a. we were running our small group but richelle and jackie kept stopping us to restart.
summer and i looked at each other extremely confused as we paused. again. "okay guys, like we don't have much time. what's going on?" summer asked
"yeah, we've probably stopped like 100 times." i said catching my breath
"we just want this dance to be good." jackie told us
"i mean who wouldn't want to be perfect? we're exactly cleaning it up." richelle said and i raised a brow at her statement
"i think richelle forgot were twins. cause i know when she's lying. and she's lying. what is going on with them?"
"i was thinking we could add in this move i learned from stacey carpenter. ripley you know it." summer said and i thought for a moment
"when i was getting back into the grove of dancing, summer was very helpful. she even taught me some combos and things she learned with stacey carpenter."
"oh- i know what your talking about." i nodded smiling and friend to my sister and jackie "it's like a combination of moves actually." i told them and they nodded backing up for us to show them.
we did turning switch tilt and slid down onto our right leg into a middle split facing the back. we arched to the right and got up in a floor leap. we popped out our left knee and did an arch. we did a slight fan kick into one small turn. we did two pirouettes ended it gracefully.
we smiled at each other before smirking at richelle and jackie. they looked a little uneasy but tried it with us a million times.
"this is gonna be a long rehearsal."
we all limped into shakes and ladders extremely tired. summer thought they were sabotaging us but they admitted they were just trying to keep up with us. which is sweet. but they weren't saying it again so i took it.
~~ i walked into the locker room seeing ozzy sitting on the bench quite sad. "hey ozz, what's up?" i asked laying on the bench resting my head on his lap
"nothing, just- uh, well...." he then went on to rant about his day. but the main thing that stuck out to me was that latroy was here. we were and still are extremely close
"wait wait wait- latroy's here?" i asked siting up and he rolled his eyes
"ripley i'm serious." he groaned making me smile
"right, sorry. but kingston is sorta right- not totally. but if you wanna be the best dancer you can be you got to be focused. i know your ozzy and you just like to talk about everything, but you gotta focus sometimes. it's key." i told him and he nodded thinking about it
"your right." he said before melting into a dopey smile "like always." he said and i laughed shoving his shoulder away
"shut up." i said laying back down on his lap.
he noticed my tiredness cause he then asked "you seem very tied. wanna talk about your day?" he asked me
"oh my gosh. let me tell you. we were running the dance in studio one and richelle and jackie kept making us restart the dance. then we added in another like count of 8 cause summer was convinced they were sabotaging us. needless to say we're all extremely sore. but apparently they were just trying to keep up with us. i wish they would've said that instead of making us redo every. little. thing." i said before plopping my arms down
"you'll be ok lee, your amazing everyone knows that. did you even want the solo?" he asked and i thought.
"not really. i don't wanna be the reason we don't get extra points. i'm not really worried about it." i shrugged
i soon let him get up as he ran off to studio a to perform with the boys. once they were done i performed the small group for michelle and emily, who in the end picked summer.
once we were done i made my way out to meet the guys for pizza when i ran into latroy. "no way- latroy?" i asked jogging over to him
"what's good ripley?" he smiled as i hugged him.
"i've missed you around here." i said pulling away
"i've missed being here. it's like a breath of fresh air." he told me
"just as long as you don't run into amy." i joked making myself laugh
"ha-ha so funny." he said dryly and ruffled my hair
"kidding, kidding. how are you and my baby sloane?" i asked and he rolled his eyes smiling
"me and my baby are amazing. what about you and my baby ozzy?" he asked mimicking me and i scoffed
"first there's no me and ozzy." i said crossing my arms
"yeah, right." he scoffed "i gotta go but, i'll see you soon." he said hugging me
"yup, tell my baby i said hi." i called walking down the hall as he sarcastically laughed.
