Hope is Still a Spark

I try to smile,

At least for awhile.

Just for you,

Hoping you don't have a clue.

The truth is stress;

I wear that black dress.

Stained with tears.

Sewn with my lingering fears.

I try to fight

Alone in the night

Against madness

Pushing through all the sadness.

Though it is dark,

Hope is still a spark.

By my side

Is He who lives though He died.

So I shall stand,

But not on the sand.

On the Rock

Is where my heart placed its lock.

Jesus is love

Peaceful like a dove.

He is strong.

The road won't always be long.

So do take hold

See God's love unfold.

Accept grace,

And look forward to His place.
