The Staircase

I'm looking up

Up up up

Up from the bottom

Looking at this staircase

There's so much I don't know

I yearn for You

And you call out

But I'm so scared

I can look out and see

How well others fared

But I take the climb

I begin my ascent

Knowing beyond doubt

That I'm of Heavenly descent

So when I fall

And skin a knee

You lift me up and carry me

When I give out

Can't rise for more

Your hands are strong enough

To make that next landing

A reachable goal

On this staircase of life

Without you God

I have not a thing

So I'll mount these steps with joy

Knowing that my God has my back

And when i falter

His grace picks up the slack

His love gives me the courage

To take just one more step...
