- Hades, Burn My Heart -

by Persephone to Hades.

You worshipped me,

you made me your Queen, your other half,

and yet,

they saw you as a monster, the Devil, the beast,

and I pity those miserable imbeciles.

They will never know what it is like to be loved

by you,

to be cherished, to be treasured by you.

You don't own me, you never did,

you love me and I love you, Hades.

But, let's give them the benefit of the doubt,

shall we?

Let them try to figure us out in their

pretty little heads,

"Because, what if?

What if we're hearing the story wrong?

What if we're being deceived from

the actual truth?

What if all this time,

Hades had only been loving Persephone,

but we misjudge his love for her?"

Shhh, silence, my king,

let us never reveal our forbidden secret,

let them never know that,

you never broke my heart into pieces,

you burnt it into ashes,

and I wear my burning heart on my sleeves

tattooed on me like exquisite jewellery,

because roses aren't ashamed of their thorns,

so my love, promise me,

that you will always be my stem with thorns,

protecting, saving, holding, possessing,

your rose, your love, me.
