Monday, the next day, every Greenvale high senior is already in school. They’re gathered inside the school gym doing nothing the entire day— this is their detention, their punishment, a state of limbo where their fate is no longer in their hands. The Greenvale High seniors are asked to think about what they’ve done, to think about their cheating ways perhaps as a move to touch their conscience and moral nature— but Cliff Perez’s strong opinions sway the minds of his peers. The Greenvale High School gym now becomes a fertile ground perfect for growing resentment towards Grayson and Cliff Perez is the farmer.
“You know whose fault this is?” Cliff thinks aloud.
“You?” a voice answers.
Laughter is heard in hushed voices.
“Shhhhhh!” the faculty shush the Greenvale High seniors.
“This is all Grayson’s fault. We are here because of Grayson and his stupid cheat sheets!” Cliff strongly posits.
The Greenvale High school seniors begin to murmur, dissenting opinions become less prevalent. Some shake their heads, most nod in agreement. Cliff smiles feeling proud of himself.

While Cliff and the rest of the Greenvale High Seniors are in the school gym, Ms. Valedictorian and “Mr. Cheater” stay inside the library studying. This is where they stay and study for the rest of the first school week after the suspension.
