Rex and the Mystery Inc. gang meet a horror writer who invites them to go back to his hometown for the Autumn Fest, where they learn that one of the writers ancestors was a witch who is apparently haunting the city.

Once they get to the tree stump, Velma puts the lantern on the stump and Ben looks at it
"All these years, i've been searching around the wrong Oak tree." Ben said
"Right. I believe this is left of the tree where Sarah did her healing. You never even notice it cause it was cut down hundreds of years ago." Velma added. "You've got to dig deeper, Scooby."
"Rno way Rnuh-uh." Scooby said shaking his head clearly lot wanting to do it
"How about for a Scooby Snack?" Velma asks
Scooby thinks for a second and shakes his head.
"Two Scooby Snacks?" Velma proposed
That alone made Scooby think for a solid minute until he nodded and said, "Rokay."
"Here you go." Velma said as she handed a couple of Scooby Snacks to Scooby
It only took Scooby half a second to eat both Scooby Snacks and he began digging, everyone getting pelted with dirt until Scooby hit something
"Rox!" Scooby said with his head in the hole
"Rocks?" Ben said still not really understanding Scooby
Scooby then pulled the box out of the hole
"A box!" Velma said sounding surprised
Ben walked over to the box and fell on his knees
"Ben, are you okay?" Velma asks
"Just.....a little....excited." Ben answers
Ben opens the box revealing some dirt and a book with a skull on it, carefully taking the book out of the box and setting it on the ground.

"Looks kind of evil to belong to a Wiccan healer." Daphne said as Ben got up holding the book
Ben started flipping through the book as if he was looking for a certain page and Velma noticed that the book had spells on it
"Ben, that doesn't seem to be a journal at all." Velma states
"That's because it isn't, Velma. It's a spellbook." Ben stated as he looked back at the group. "You see, Sarah wasn't a Wiccan, she was indeed a witch!"
"A real witch?" Luna states in confusion
"Heavy..." Dusk adds
"And since Sarah's blood runs in my veins, I guess that makes me....a warlock." Ben comments, getting a more sinister tone to his voice
"Warlock??!??" Scooby and Shaggy yelped
"The Wiccans imprisoned Sarah in her own spellbook." Ben explains. "And you helped me find it."
