INTERVIEWER #1
--We came in?
INTERVIEWER #2
Hey, you, ready?
JACK MALLOY
Um, yes. Yes, yes. We start now?
INTERVIEWER #2
It's already started.
JACK MALLOY
Oh, already? ... Is that thing on?
INTERVIEWER #1
Yeah, it's on. So! Tell us about you, Mr Malloy.
JACK MALLOY
No, please, call me Jack. I'm no mister.
INTERVIEWER #2
... Alright.
INTERVIEWER #1
Where are you from, Jack? You don't sound German. Like, at all.
JACK MALLOY
No, um... I'm from the USA. California, to be more exact. Los Angeles.
INTERVIEWER #1
And how does an American kid end up in Europe, taking part of the liberation process of Germany?
JACK MALLOY
Well, how do so many foreign kids end up fighting in other people's wars?
INTERVIEWER #2
We mean, why are you here? What do you win from being here? What's your benefit?
JACK MALLOY
That's kinda long story.
INTERVIEWER #1
Well, that's kinda our job.
INTERVIEWER #2
Yes, to collect memories of rebels across Europe. Hell, if we're lucky, we'll bring the project to other continents. There's all sorts of political mayhem everywhere.
JACK MALLOY
But... So then... you collect these memories in case they... y'know, are K.I.A.?
INTERVIEWER #1
Well, it's a possibility.... But that's not what we're aiming for. We want to reflect a more... human side of these conflicts. If we got some interest, we may be able to publish these stories.INTERVIEWER #2
Let the whole world know what these fighters actually went through before deciding to join the revolution. What were their motivations.JACK MALLOY
... Okay. Okay, um... Let me think where....where I can start.
