Once when The King Akbar
Was attending his morning court,
A Learned Pandit appeared
And challenged to break his record.

He asked to find his mother tongue
As no one can ever recognise,
He spoke many languages
The courtiers were entirely surprised.

Everyone tried their luck
And unfortunately, they lost
The Pandit grew happier and
He needed to get defeated at any cost

So at last Birbal was summoned
As all the hopes were gone,
Birbal asked for a single day
For the language, the Pandit was born.

Night fell in the kingdom
And the Pandit slept at ease,
While Birbal came at midnight
Without breaking the peace.

He slowly whispered in his ears
And trickled him a bit,
While half-awake half-slept
In Telugu, something said the Pandit.

Yes! he talked in his mother tongue
And Birbal heard it all,
He also told the court the next day
The King enjoyed the Pandit's fall.

But Akbar's questions were answered
By Birbal's story of last night,
As for how he managed to find it out
The entire court went quite

King Akbar's pride again went
To its place at the ninth sky,
And the Pandit admitted the truth
That the competition here was high.

So that's how 'The Clever Birbal'
Proved himself the smartest of all,
And with his great skills, he won
The hearts of the crowd in the hall.
