Through shades of darkness, arose a world

A mind that got swayed.

The sight of something had him stirred

The dreaded path had been laid.

DRUG  it was, a menacing evil

He saw it with his friend.

"Try it once", he said to him

The mind had started to bend.

The needs changed, the wants grew

There was no help on offer.

Having experienced something new

He felt he'd found a coffer.

Indulgence in a vice may be a lot of fun

The exposure may calm the tension.

Like a fierce bullet from a gun

Rattling the inner complexion.

A tightened grip, hard to confront

Misery is what lies ahead.

We need to be more vigilant

To avoid situations we always dread.

It's hard to comprehend what goes through him

He whose life transformed.

Languishing through thick and thin

In a need of being better armed.

A world different, that of addiction

He chose to traverse the path.

A life which seemed to add colour

Made him to bear the wrath.
