In the darkness of the night,

Another soul is taken away from the light.

Taken from mortality at the brink of death,

In agony as he takes his last breath.

Precious life taken away,

Away from the day.

Humanity gone,

Now forever damned alone.

Reborn, rejuvenated, revived into the dead,

Filled with dread.

It’s not a nightmare, this is real-life.

Now unable to reach the afterlife.

Trapped an eternity in the darkness,

Now believed to be heartless.

Those full of accusation,

Believed to be an abomination.

Uncontrollable lust for blood,

Would stop if he could.

Full of hunger and desire,

Scarlet eyes full of fire.

Now filled with an unexplainable thirst, a need

The fluttering heartbeats he can heed.

Forced to take the vibrant pulsating crimson life-force,

Taken from the source.

Now a monster if the worst kind,

Preying on the weaker species of humankind

The blood, horror and victims terrified screams.

The guilt ripping him from the seams.

Those whom desire immortality,

Are unable to see rationality.

Blind to see it for what it is, damnation.

Until they are unable to find salvation.

For the price of eternal youth comes at a high price,

The soul is what you must sacrifice.

Forever trapped in your own being,

Looking but unseeing.

All that’s left is longing for what is lost,

Woe and grief for the spirit lost, such a high cost.

There is no cure for vampirism,

Lost to the instincts, the animalism.

Now to the point of no return,

Lost to the thirst, the burn.

Damned either way,

Whether he leaves this world or decides to stay.
