Though we have done more than most may
There are things I still hope to do with you:
~
Attend a clearing sale,
in winter mist
~
Whisper my darkest secret in your ear
on the darkest night of the year
~
Drive the Great Ocean Road, fast
in a stolen sports car
~
Drown in a star shower, as the universe
falls round us in streaks of light
~
Autograph a copy of my first book
with you never realising it’s about us
~
Hike the world’s highest valley
& only gasping for breath at the view
~
Dive for sunken treasure in a harbour
during a thunderstorm
~
Be there, Opening Night. Hear
your song, unexpectedly, on the radio
~
Sit through seven hundred sunsets
Not doubt, never doubt again
~
~
Visit Ancient Greece, Elizabethan England,
18th century Scotland, & Russia twenty years ago
~
Heal your sickness, find the purple leaves
Watch your hair turn grey, soar into the white
~
~
Make love with you
at least once
