Again make sure your characters are unique. So unique not cliche.
Examples of cliche characters.
-The evil/blonde/popular girl
-The nerd with glasses and braces
-The hot neighbor
-The impossible teacher
Also watch out for Mary-sue's [perfect characters] So try and take this test (honestly) to see if any of your characters are Mary-Sue's http://www.springhole.net/quizzes/marysue.htm
