The Basics: How to Write a Good Story

Authors Note(s) If you are wondering if you have a good story, or how you would even START making a story, stay here.

I am no professional but I know enough to teach you the basics:

Chapter One: The Plot

The first part of your story is your plot--NOT the title. Make sure your story is unique and not cliche. If you are doing a classic change it up a bit. Instead of the wolf eating little red have him eat cinderella!! :) Classics are boring and have been done a trillion times. Definition of a classic: a book everyone is assumed to have read and often thinks they have read themselves. Examples of classics and plots that have been done too many times:

-Boy meets girl (cliche)

-Rags to riches (classic)

-Vampire/Werewolf Stories (cliche)

-Teen Pregnancy Stories (cliche)

-Romeo and Juliet  (classic)

-Best friends that fall in love (cliche)

-Red Riding Hood  (classic)

TIP: If you can't come up with an original plot look at songs. There are plenty of story lines and it comes with a title!!

Inspiration---If you still can't come up with a plot give it some time. Go on with your life. You will find it somewhere.
