There are nights that look like you
Darker than usual, colder, and a little bit longer
I lay on the rooftop gazing up at the sky
Black emptiness with little to no stars and angry clouds
On the paved ground with my thin nightgown I shiver with cold
And when the cold night air wraps around my skin I shiver with need
With blue hands and feet and foggy breaths
I embrace your coldness with frozen arms
And open my mouth and wait for the first raindrop to lend on my tongue.
