The Calm Before a Storm

I lay awake at night

With darkness in sight

No comfort or light

To chase away the fright

Bitten by the cold

With no one to hold

As my fears unfold

They remain untold

Pitter potter of the rain

My cheeks were stain

No one kept me sane

No comfort to gain

Why can't you see

That it frightens me

How you let me be

Alone with the enemy

On this stormy day

I beg and pray

And stupidly, I say

"Will you stay?"

Now it became clear

It's all bullshit, you hear?

When you said you'd be near

To chase away the fear
