HOCKEY SUPER STAR AND OLYMPIC ICE DANCING CHAMPION GET MARRIED

This weekend, two of the hottest sports figures tied the knot in a private ceremony in Italy. Xavier Hommes and Rosaura Hommes née Simmons have been dating for the last four years. Last summer, after winning his second Stanley cup, Xavier proposed to Rosaura on centre ice, the skater happily accepting. 

The pair waited to get married as both were busy travelling and focusing on their sport. Just last month, Rosaura announced her retirement alongside her partner Val from competitive figure skating.

"I just knew it was time," she said in a statement. "I've accomplished everything I set out to do and I'm excited for the next chapter in my life."

Attendees said that the ceremony was heartfelt and beautiful. The couple requested that the guest make donations to their favourite charities as a wedding gift. Rumor has it that the couple will be spending their honeymoon in Bora Bora before coming back for the start of the NHL season. We wish the couple happiness in the many years to come.
