This poem is written for my people-those who have lost their way of life or watched it slowly fade. Whether this be through migration or just the total avoidance to acknowledge our culture because it is considered too hot or too cold.Justice-St. Luz's priority is to offer a warm, gentle reminder not only to her own community but to every minority. With help from the Lord Jesus Christ she was able to do just that. In a time when brainwashing and whitewashing are so widespread, it important now more than ever that we hold tightly to our history and identity. Only then can we realize that our culture is just right and ensure that we-and the generations after us-grow up grounded in who we truly are, rather than questioning where we belong.
