Large defence platforms are, by nature, multi-vendor systems. A naval vessel, a missile program, or a complex tracked or wheeled vehicle typically draws subsystems propulsion, sensors, weapons, communications, avionics from a wide roster of independent suppliers, each with its own engineering culture and, critically, its own approach to technical documentation. That diversity is manageable at the hardware level. At the documentation level, it's where things quietly go wrong.
