Kasha-yokai Stories

Little Kasha is only half of what she seems. Being born a paranormal creature, she has little options of what she can do without drawing too much attention to herself. Trying to run away from what she is, she finds herself in a place called the Forever pet shop where she and the owner Nick have a little deal worked out. Every so often she is given out on loan for humans looking for rare and exotic breeds. It never lasts long and each one brings her back. When she comes back she is allowed time to herself, safe in the little pet shop with no one the wiser of what she is. Life is easy and she is safe. Until one day a man walks into her little safe haven. He knows exactly what she is and despite her and Nick's arrangement, it looks like she'll be getting a new owner, indefinitely... **Author's Note: This is a short story. There will be other short stories to follow this one.

The story continues with Kasha and Mr. Mortimer in the squeal to the first short story 'Death's Pet'. This time her past comes back to find her making her doubt herself and her purpose as Death's companion. On top of her past haunting her, her present is filled with a thief stealing souls and possibly upsetting the natural order of the world. With her past and present in disarray what will her future hold for her?
