jui still wasn't good at mandarin, but she was doing her best as a translator for sicheng.
the staff had told her not to help sicheng, but jui wasn't gonna listen to that shit. the other members agreed, and so, jui always quickly moved over to where sicheng was, and did her best to translate.
they were in the middle of filming nct life, and the others were trying to explain a game to sicheng. It wasn't going very well, and even speaking slowly wasn't working.
"Winwin, pick the first person who raises their hand." Mark said.
Winwin looked around and Jui could tell he was confused.
"Umm... first hand.... you pick......" Mark said in english.
"Mark you idiot he can't understand english." Yuta said laughing slightly.
Jui perked her head up.
"Pick person.... who.. first raise hand." Jui said, in very not fluent Mandarin
"Ahhh... okay." Winwin said, smiling at Jui.
Jui gave a quick thumbs up and smiled back, even though the staff was glaring at her.
Jui didn't raise her hand fast enough for the first question, but she got kimchi, Iron Man, and tteokbokki.
When Taeil lost Jui and Mark were badly screeching Without You in the background, and Winwin came over and hugged Jui.
"You did a good job." Jui said.
"So did you." Winwin said.
"Wanna sit together at lunch?" Jui asked.
"Sure." Winwin said.
The two smiled at each other before the staff called them to start the next game.

a day out
jui laughed slightly as responded to marks text. it was lunar new year time, and they were about to start preparing for 'Limitless'. jui's hair was a fiery red, and she was finishing her makeup.
"jui are you ready to go?" sicheng said, poking his head into the room
"yeah just let me grab my mask." jui said, pulling her hair back before placing a cap on her head.
the two quickly left the dorm, and caught the bus, since neither of them could legally drive.
"pull your hood up, we'll attract less attention." sicheng whispered
jui pouted slightly, before doing as he said, her hood over her cap, and only small amount of red being visible.
"did you find us somewhere to eat?" sicheng asked
"yeah, it's small and cheap so the only people that really go there are university students. it's right near a market so we'll be good." jui said.
as the sun set, the bus pulled up to their stop, and the two, as well as a bunch of young adults, got off
the two wandered towards the small hole-in-the-wall shop
"can i order the food? you know to practice
my mandarin?" jui asked.
"sure." sicheng said, tightening his grasp on jui's hand as they headed into busy crowds.
sicheng laughed a little when jui mispronounced a few words while jui side-eyed him.
"i hate you."
"that's impossible."
"you're right."
