Chapter 16 : I'M STRONG!
ISABELLA'S POV
"I have to do this alone and it's just a phase that'll pass " I remind myself for the millionth time .
Chris went for swimming practice . Harv went for his Physical training class whereas Lucy's kinda sick so she's resting at home .
I take a deep breath and walk into the premises .
I notice some people are still staring at me .
Frankly speaking , I preferred the way they did on my first day here ,
at least they considered me as a stranger then , now I'm the talk of the town .
Great , just great !
I didn't even pick my parents' calls yesterday , I might have spilled everything emotionally .
And I don't want them to worry about me .
I am strong all by myself .
I did text them back saying I had dozed off and my phone was on silent .
First I had to deal with Social studies, followed by English today .
I sat at the back so that others would actually leave me alone , but life's not that simple , right ?
"You are sitting on my desk "
"Can you please sit somewhere else for today ? "
"That's my spot so remove your big fat ass from there "
"Oliver your name is not written on it , so as much as you own this desk , so do I and so does every other student "
He bangs the desk hard which kinda creeps me out but I'm not gonna let him take advantage of me or anyone .
"You do know your precious video is going viral , right ?"
"Enough is enough Oliver!" Royal shouts out of nowhere
"Seriously Royal ? You are 'again' standing up for 'her' "
" Royal it's okay I can handle him by myself " I say as politely as I could
Professor enters the class & everyone settles in their places , except for Oliver who had to sit on the very first desk.
At least the good thing is that
Ro is aware of the clip and he didn't do it , also he took my side .
At least that's what I though until !
Me and Chris were sitting in the cafeteria , having lunch .
Harv went at Lucy's place to check up on her .
" ATTENTION EVERYONE " , Oliver says aloud and almost every head turns towards him .
"Have you all checked the recent video of our not so innocent student Isabella Winston !"
Is he freaking kidding me ?!
" Come on Bella, we should just go" Chris advices
Control Bell , others already knew about it , Oliver just reminded them !
My breathing got heavier and I knew I would turn into a crying mess any minute now.
I hear a few people laugh , including Rebecca , Ben and Jessica .
Fedrick and Royal are just sitting there , like nothing just happened a while ago .
I bite my lip yet again, controlling myself from crying, no one here deserves my tears !
I see Beca walk up to me,
" Not only you failed a test but also failed a thing called ' being social ' "
Jessica on her trail ,
" Next time , you don't mess with any of us "
Royal catches up to them .
" Royal aren't you gonna say something ?" I whisper
" You think I'll stand up for you again and again ?
Come on you can't be that pathetic . Besides if you haven't been drunk in the first place, you wouldn't have been a part of this mess , this is completely on you "
This is so not happening !
Jessica shifts closer to him and
Fed joins his group mates while I just stand there like the lunatic that I am .
" Royal don't do this " Chris says in a stern manner
" Wait a minute ! Royal does that mean you were the one who leaked her video ?" Ben asks Royal
But Royal says nothing.
"Tell him you didnt do it Ro! " I shout
Ro looks at me and then gulps . He closes his eyes for a brief second .
Finally he shouts ,
" YES I DID IT , happy now ?"
And I dont miss out the shocking looks from Oliver , Fed , Beca and Jessica .
Don't even ask about me , I kinda lost Faith is us !
" This is the second time I have seen her crying " Ben comments
" Isabella let's go " Chris takes my hand and pulls me out of the cafeteria .
As soon as I am out of that place ,
I request Chris that I want to be left alone for some time and he respects it .
I continue sobbing until there's no tears left to cry !
It feels worse than Breakup , not that I have experienced it but when someone just breaks your trust ,
that's shattering!
I not only hate you but myself too because a part of me still believes you didn't do , it still thinks you lied about it !
I just don't get why would he act in such a way that intends to drives me away ?
I feel disquited!

Next week ,
It's been exactly a week since that incident took place .
I have been locked up in my room all by myself.
Chris , Lu , Harv tried to convince me to go out and everything, but I just dont feel like it .
Day knows what happened and she also thinks that it doesn't sound like something Royal would do .
On the other hand, Chris was like
'I told you so' , but I still can't bring myself to believe that he could actually do something like that.
Even after he actually confessed in front of the whole cafeteria , all I can do is hate him !

My phone beeped and it's a video call from Dad .
I picked it after I tried to tidy my hair a bit which seemed like a bird's nest initially .
" Hi "
" What the hell is wrong with you? You haven't called or texted since last few days! Do you know how much we were worried about you ?
Finally we called Royal and he said that you were fine"
Fine ? I'm a fine ? Do I look like I'm fine ?!
" Sweetheart what happened ?
Dont cryyy baby . Tell me what's wrong ? "
" Nothing "
" You can tell me anything , you do know that, right ?"
" Yaa "
" Then tell me what happened ? Who the hell made my daughter cry ?"
"No one " I say while wiping my tears
" Are you going to tell me what's going on or should I come all the way there ? "
" Dad it's okay. I'm okay. Just a little sad . Highschool stuff "
" You dont seem okay "
I took a deep breath and ended up spilling the tea !
" I went to a party last to last week and I tried alcohol for the very first time . I started acting funny and I puked twice or thrice , someone filmed it and the video got viral now " I finally confessed .
" Why didn't you informed me about this before?? You gonna report that. I'm gonna come there myself and see to that , who ever did it gets
punished "
" No dad "
" What do you mean 'No' ? This is wrong and what did we teach you Bella?"
" To fight against something which is wrong , to always do the right thing no matter how much hard it is " ,
I say
" Then ? Imagine if it were someone else in your place and imagine if the video was not just about drinking and puking but something else , something worse , something wrong "
Izzy do something.. If it's Royal then I can't have him arrested or something.
I can't let his family know what he did if he did it !
But what if he didn't do it ?
" Bella ? You listening?"
" Yes and I understand Dad . But whatever happened was by mistake "
" What do you mean by mistake ?"
" I was not the only one in the video .
It was for memories' sake .
My bad luck , when I got in the frame , I puked "

" Right " I said , trying to sound as truthful as I could

" Dont worry . Once you are done with your semester exams, you're coming home again "

" You know what ? There are somethings I regret till date "
" What's that dad ?"
" Well there are a few things , starting from being a heartless teen who did not know he had a heart and bullied others to a still heartless man whose heart was stolen by someone special and ended up hurting that one "
"Oh"
" Even though, some people forgave me , some didn't . But leaving with that guilt killed me , until your Mom made me realise certain things and right now , I kinda made peace with it . That is after I started doing the right thing "
"Oh "
" I just wanna say , if it's possible , then try to understand the situation and others , like what they did and why they did . If you can't then also it's alright, just try to make peace with it instead of letting it kill you "
" Yeah I understand " I say
" My girl , you are so strong "

And I hung up the call .
I really needed to hear that..

Which reminds me, my first Semester!
I'm gonna concentrate on my studies now and let the rest go to hell!
I haven't touched any academic book since last week , all I did was sulk in this room , watch teen movies and read stories on wattpad .
The good thing about today is I have the whole room to myself , since Chris is out with Lu and Harv.
They kinda forced me to come as well but their puppy dog eyes didn't worked .
I started watching k drama
" Playful Kiss " .
I think this is my third time .
Just as I was halfway through the third episode , I hear a knock at my door .
Maybe Chris got bored and came home early . But he has key , why would he knock the door?
I lazily get up from my bed .
The words come out of my mouth as soon as I open the door .
" What are you doing here ??"
and I find myself staring at the mesmerizing aqua eyes which I hate that I love !
