Cora called Marcus, she wore a gossamer robe while she paced the floor of her bedroom like a convict before her execution. "Hello, Marcus?"
"Hello Cora, you okay? Everything alright?"
"Everything is fine Marcus, well there is one thing." She said biting her lip and doing her best to muster up the courage.
"What's that?"
"I was wondering,"
"Yes?"
"I was hoping I could, you know take you out to dinner"
"Sure I guess"
"Like a date."
"Why would you want to do that?"
"Say yes and I'll try to explain"
"Okay, sounds fair to me"
"Is that yes?"
"Yes, you want to pick me up or do you want me to come get you"
"How about we meet, someplace nice"
"I'm not sure I know anyplace nice that will let me in"
"Okay, I'll handle that and give you the details how does Faraday sound?"
"Sure"
"Okay I'll call Thursday to confirm"
"Okay Cora, I'm a little dumbfounded that you want to take me out"
"After all the meals you made for me, the least I can do is feed you, I'm not quite the cook you are but I know what's good"
"If you sure"
"I am" she smiled at the phone.
