Its been a while now. Jisoo eonnie came to help me when i was giving birth and my baby boy, JaeMin was born!
My baby boy has now turned 3 and i opened up a store so i can work around my own hours being a single mum.
I earn a lot honestly. A lot for the three of us.
"mummy! Mummy!" JaeMin ran up to me in the cutest little way
I smiled at him and crouched down to his level
"why so fast baby? You're going to fall and hurt yourself!" i told him
"i turned three!" he said to me.
I just picked him up from playschool and he was so happy he received so many presents from his friends.
I'm glad he was having a good time.
"aww i know baby. So what do you want for your birthday?" i asked him smiling
"uhmmm. I don't know! Can i ask you later?" he said
His aegyo is the cutest. I just love how cute he is. The type of child I've always wanted since i was young
I giggled "of course you can sweetheart. Take your time."
I then stood up and we started walking to the car.
My parents sends me money every month but i have never used them. I don't really need to because i can afford and support the both of us.
My mum sends them anyways saying that they are for JaeMin
"buckle up. You need to stay safe" i told him as he got onto his car seat and buckled up.
"so where do you want to eat muffin?" i asked him
"i want you to cook mummy! We always eat out!" he said
I giggled.
That's true. I haven't cooked in a while. It reminded me of Jimin.
I would remember all those meals i cooked for him and meals we shared.
Though, i cant complain now, its JaeMin's birthday.
I stopped by the groceries and grab some ingredients.
I paid for them and we went back to Jennie's house.
"yo kid!" Jennie came running to us "happy birthday! Come give me a kiss!"
JaeMin gave her a small peck on the cheek and ran away
I giggled
"so your going to cook again?" she asked me
"JaeMin asked me to. I guess i need to start back anyways. We cant always be eating out." i sighed
"that's so you. Cheer up y/n its been 4 years now. Things change" she said to me
"i know. I just cant stop seeing him in JaeMin. They both look so much a like." i told her
"yeah. That's true." she said
Just then, Jennie got a call from Jisoo and she went to pick it up.
I started looking through my ingredients and cook the food.
A while later, Jennie came to me with Jisoo on video call
"Y/N! WHERE IS MY MUNCHKINS!" Jisoo was obsessed with JaeMin
She loved him so much and she literally would spoil him if she had the chance to.
I then heard JaeMin running here and he greeted Jisoo
When i finished cooking, i laid it all out on the table and set it up.
I put the cake that i bought earlier and place it in the middle of the table.
As JaeMin came in, me and Jennie sang him his birthday song and let him blow the candles to his cake.
He cut the cake and we made sure he ate his meal before he had his cake.
JaeMin ate a lot. He stuff so many food and i was reminded of Jimin and how he stuff his food too.
"JaeMin. Eat slowly. You're going to get sick" i told him and he obeyed
I gave him some water and he drank some of it up
"so JaeMin. Have you thought about what you wanted for your birthday yet?" Jennie asked him
I looked at JaeMin as i ate my food
This is weird for him to take so long. He usually would ask straight away..
He stopped eating and looked at me hesitantly. I smiled at him reassuring him that he could ask whatever he wanted.
"i want to meet appa" he said
I stopped chewing and stared at JaeMin with shocked eyes.
JaeMin never really asked about Jimin. He never really showed me that he was interested.
This was the first time he had ever asked me this.
I turned my gaze to Jennie who looked at me worriedly.
I put my cutleries down and had a drink before looking at JaeMin
"Muffin. Why do you want to meet appa?" i asked him
"all my friends have dads they talk about the places they go with their dads and what they do with them. I want to play with appa too" he told us.
I was speechless. I knew this day would eventually come..
I fought my tears because i didn't want him to know about what Jimin and me are.
Jimin doesn't even know he has a child.
"darling baby. I promise you that one day, you will meet your dad but I'm not sure if now is the right time okay? What if we pick something else?" i asked him
He nodded disappointed but he didn't object.. He asked me "then, i want to go back and meet halmeoni! And harabeoji!"
I giggled
"hmmm. How bout-" i wanted to change his mind because i was reluctant with that
"come on y/n. JaeMin hasn't seen them yet. What if you just go there for a while?" Jennie said to me
She pointed at JaeMin who had a hopeful face
"okay then. I'll get us a ticket for next week" i said smiling anxiously
The whole day i couldn't stop worrying about going back. What if i just told JaeMin that there are no flights back?
No that cant be good...
I sighed in frustration.
"oh come on y/n. Spare the child. He hasn't even see his relatives!" Jennie came in the room
"i know.. I'm just worried that it might not go well. What if he meets Jimin?" i said anxiously
"so what if he meets Jimin? He is his father. He has the rights to meet him y/n" Jennie said
"Jimin rejected the baby when i told him i was pregnant! He didn't even believe it was his! How could i let someone so cruel, meet an innocent child?" i reminded her
Jennie sighed "y/n, one way or another, JaeMin is gonna meet his father. He is gonna get more and more curious as he grows up"
I tensed at that. I can see it already..
"one day, if you're not gonna show him, he is gonna find Jimin himself" Jennie said
She's right..
I'm just worried that Jimin will reject JaeMin and hurt him like how he did to me...
