Autumn of 1999
"Hello Appa..." as Jimin and Sydney went to Mr. Park restaurant together with Mrs. Park andJi-hyun
"I will all leaving you to Appa,Sydney please help Uncle to Ji-hyunah arasso?" as Mrs park saying okay sign to Sydney
"Yeah Auntie..." as Sydney smile and nod
"Jimin help Appa okay..." as Mrs.Park ask Jimin
"Deh.. Eommonie" and he hurriedlyget the small apron and wear it, he already get used to it since hisDad bring him here to help.
"How was she?" as Mr. Park whisperto his wife
"Edward were crying when he called me, Sarah don't wan't to see her in pain due to the medication and that is why he leave the hospital and ask me to fetch her. Poor Edward and Sarah..Why is it happening to them.." as Mrs. Park was teary eyed and try to hide it while looking at Sydney
"Don't worry I know we can all pass these test..Shhh.." as he tries to comfort her wife
"Okay I'm going now... Bye!" as Mrs. Park kiss her husband and the kids as well is Sydney.
Mrs. Park drove to the hospital and saw Mrs. Kim waiting to her at the lobby
"Why it took you so long?" as Mrs.Kim tease her to annoy her
"You were such a brat... Why you don't want your husband to fetch you.." as she try to hold her to her arms to help her walk
"Because he will just ask questions that irritates me.. " as Mrs. Kim smiles
"Now I know why Sydney is so strong headed... Tsk Tsk.." as Mrs. Park bring her to the car
"Haist..." as she already on the passenger seat and then Mrs. Park seat on the driver seat.
"Actually I'm giving you a favor..so that we can have some quality time, we never have this since I got a medication. And it frustrates me more you know?" as she was ranting now even Mrs. Park now that it is still hurts for Sarah, she wanted to make her laugh.
"Okay... where would you like to go?I'm on it!!!" as Mrs. Park winks
"Jinja!!! Chungmal??!" as Mrs. Kim smile widely
Mrs. Park texted Mr. Park and Mr. Kim
They watched a movie,Drama movie and ended up they were both crying and then eat at the cafe while talking about the movie
"This is the best days ever..."as Mrs. Kim was laughing they already at the front of the house and getting out of the car,
"You were welcome.." as Mrs. Park winks and they both went on their houses
And while their husbands waiting at them specially Mr. Kim that still having a problem how to make Ji-hyun to sleep.
Mrs. Kim, silently opens the door and hear that TV is on
And saw her husband and daughter sleeping together on the coach, that makes him soft. And started to tear up again.
"Please let me live long for my daughter she still very young she still needs me..I'm begging you.."as she was looking at the cross that i'ts on their bedroom wall, crying silently so that no one ever knew that she is hurting more thinking that she is dying.
Times passes by and Mrs. make sure that she always time to Sydney, she always make a bedtime stories and cook her favorite food, Together with Mrs. Park they always went to park so that the kids can play.
She still continue the medication even the previous was failed, Mr. Kim said even though he went bankrupt he will never give up.
While they were at Kim's residences
"We should take the kids the school for proper schooling" as Mrs. Park said they were at the living room and eating some snacks
"That is a good idea..." as she just nods and agrees
And they both hears that Jimin is arguing to Ji-hyun about a toy. And Sydney snatched it to Jimin and gave to Ji-hyun
"She is really like you..Hahahaha"as Mrs. Park teases Mrs. Kim
"And I think that is the best for them so that they will meet new friends. And she will act like a girl since she was with two boys." as Sarah were looking at them and Mrs. Park laugh.
Tomorrow will be the first day of their school
"And they live happily ever after...okay it's time to sleep now.." as Mrs. Kim kissed Sydney's forehead and prepare her to bed.
"What time will Daddy come home?"as Sydney were sleepy while asking her mom
"He is on the way baby..but you need to sleep now.. Daddy will see you tomorrow morning, okay?" as Mrs. Kim kissed him again and then turn on the bed light and then she stand up and while she was turning off the main light.
"I Love you Mom!" as Sydney smiles to her Mom
"I Love you more baby.." as Mrs.Kim turns off the main light. And she was teary eyed came to the kitchen.
On the way to kitchen...
"I'm here..." as Mr. Kim came in with some groceries that his wife ask to buy.
"Oh.. Thank you Hon.." as she welcomes her husband and kissed him on the cheeks and then check the groceries while Mr. Kim went to Sydney's room and check her and kissed her forehead.
"How was your day? Would you like mere heat the food?" as Mrs. Kim asking him while he was trying to loosen his necktie and unbutton the two buttons of his polo to losses up.
"Yes.. Jagi.. I'm hungry.." as Mr.Kim were smiling and sit on the table.
"Sydney is so excited for tomorrow that she never stop asking questions." as Mrs. Kim was putting there heated food on the table while Mr. Kim getting some water to help his wife.
"I already finish everything so that I can come on Sydney's first day" as Mr. Kim were eating and Mrs.Kim is just looking at her
"Wah... I know that I'm husband but get embarrassed if you were looking at me like that?" as Mr. Kim were laughing
Mrs. Kim looks at her husband smiling
"I'm so happy that you were my husband and father of Sydney.."as she still smiling while Mr. Kim trying to be strong not to have any waters on his eyes
He stands up and hugs his wife and give her a kiss, and then they smile to each other
"I'm so lucky to have a wonderful wife.. I can't be happy like this if you didn't marry me?" as Mr.Kim kissed her forehead.
"Hahahaha.. I'm so dramatic today.."as Mrs. Kim laughs and then his husband sit down again and start to eat again.
"Tomorrow is also your check-up right?" as Mr. Kim became a little bit serious
"Yeah.. But I will come for Sydney' school first then you can drive me to the hospital" as Mrs. Kim smiles
Mr. Kim just nods and then smiles
"Mommy.. Daddy hurry up I don't want to be late at school" as Sydney is already at the front door and waiting to them
While Mrs and Mrs Park together with Jimin and Ji-hyun came out to their house
"Ow.. Sydney you were so cute on your uniform" as Mrs. Park came near to Sydney and smile
"Thank you Auntie...Jimin is also cute on his uniform." as Sydney points Jimin
"You were both look cute together..We need to take you a picture" as Mrs. Kim came and took a picture.
And they were all went to the school using Mr. Kim's car
"Be careful and nice to your classmates okay?" As Mrs Kim give the small bag to her
"Daddy, you promise me that you will buy me Bungeo-ppang (Fish Bread) if I got a star right?" as Sydney look to her Dad
"Yeah.. and also Jimin so better be nice to everyone including Jimin, okay?" as Mr. Kim looks at Sydney and smile at Jimin
"I hear that.. be nice to me as well" as Jimin tease her
Sydney just glares to Jimin and looks to her Dad
"That is a deal..." as Mr. Kim give his hand for a handshake
"Okay. deal.." as Sydney sigh and the give handshake his Dad while Mrs and Mr Park were smiling
And they all leave.
Year 2004
Times passes by and both Jimin and Sydney become best of friends, since they are classmates they were doing their homework together. Jimin is good at Math and other calculations, but when it come to arts and crafts Sydney is the one assign to do the work.
As Sydney grew older, she knew that her Mom is sick, sometimes her Mom need to stay at the hospital fora couple of weeks, and also she saw her Dad crying one time at the kitchen while drinking.
Sydney POV
I want to ask Mom and Dad but I'm scared, I'm scared to know the truth. Until one day I saw my Mom in pain while holding her head at the kitchen and she was crying. While my Dad holding her mom and also trying to comfort her while he is teary eyed.
"Mom.. Dad.. what is going on?" as I was so shocked, looking at them both crying
"Go upstairs now.. Sydney..please..." as Mom shouts while looking at me
" Sydney It's okay.. baby.." as my Dad smiles just to assures me and I leave and cry to my room
The next morning, Jimin woke me up by opening the curtain of my window.
"Wake up sleepy head.. we need to go the library today.. yah hurry up" as Jimin tries to wake me up
"Hmmm..." as Sydney complains
"Wake up Sydney, so that we will finish everything early and we can go beach." as Jimin removing the blanket that make Sydney rolled over.
"Okay.. fine..you are so annoying!!"as Sydney stands up and went to the bathroom
"Hurry up!!" as he smiles while leaving the room and went to the kitchen
"How was she?" as Mrs. Kim ask Jimin they were all seated on Kim's dinning table to eat breakfast.Mrs. Kim ask for Jimin's help because of what happen last night
"She will come down after a bit Auntie" as he politely answer
"Go and sit Jiminah" as Mrs Park prepare his utensils and rice.
" What time are you both come home?"as Mr. Kim asked Jimin
"Maybe 4:00 pm Uncle because we need to finish the research." as Jimin said and then Sydney came and the sit next to Jimin
"Eat more baby" as Mrs. Kim give the food to Sydney
"Thanks Mom!" as Sydney smiles and eats the food
"Jiminah did you check your bike?"as Mr. Park ask
"Deh Appa, I also check Sydney's bike as well" as Jimin answered
"You are so lucky to have a responsible son.." as Mr. Kim thumbs up to Mr. Park
I was just silent eating and I knew my Mom was just looking at me
After we eat breakfast me, Jimin and Mr. Park rode a bike while Mom and Dad went to the hospital, Mrs.Park is with Ji-hyun
"Ready? I will lead you all first to library before I went to the restaurant" as Mr. Parks smiles to us
" Yeah.. Uncle I'm ready" as I'm on the bike and Jimin just nods
Our house is near to our school and other establishment like library so that is why they allow us to use a bike.
I love biking because we can go to different places with Jimin after class and we can also go to the nearest beach. We usually come there and we just sit down on the sand studying or playing on the sand or throwing some stones. When we are lonely we come there. One day we came home soaking wet because we played on the water and Mrs. Park get mad to Jimin because she is worried if I get sick, even though it is my fault I was the one who pushed him to the water and then he splashed me that is why we both get wet. I pitied Jimin because of that, and I explain it to Mrs.Park. Jimin is very nice to me, he is very thoughtful and patience of me being so stubborn. But he never complains. Our parent always match us together, and we just laugh about it.
"Okay.. we are here.. you need to come to restaurant so that Mom will not going to nags at us okay?"as Mr Park said to Jimin and then he leaves
"Thanks Uncle!" as Sydney shouts
And then Mr. Park raise his hand and leave
Jimin POV
We have been friend since we are babies and that is why I knew Sydney well, There is something that bother her.She can't focus on our project and that is why I was the one who finished so that we can go to the beach.
"Spill it out.. what is bothering you?" as they both on the shoreline while seating on the sand.
Sydney just started to teared up and makes me worried
"I saw Mom last night she was in pain so much and Dad just hugging her while comforting her.. Jimin..I was so scared!!!.. What if.. my Mom.." as Sydney still crying
I automatically came near her and hug her. I feel her pain. As I knew that Auntie is sick and I overheard my parents talking about Mom visits Auntie at the hospital
I just let her cry because were still young and there is nothing I can do just to be with her.
After Dinner..
Sydney went to her bedroom and her Mom follows her
"Sydney.. can I talk to you for a minute?" as Mrs. Kim knocks on the door
"Come in Mom.." as Sydney was sitting on her bed
Mrs. Park came inside and his dad came in
"I know that you were shocked on what you saw last night.. I'm so sorry for yelling at you.. I did not mean it.." as Mrs. Park starts to tear up and Sydney starts to cry and hugs her mom.
"Mommy..." as Sydney cries and her Dad was standing and also crying looking at them
"Shhh.. I'm really sorry.. You were getting old know and we cant hide it anymore to you.." as Mrs. Park smiling looking at Sydney and looks at her husband that is also crying
"Oh.. my big baby is also crying come here Daddy.." as Mrs. Park ask her husband to sit beside them
"Daddy and I will tell you the whole truth.. Mommy is sick and I'm on treatment.. but this time I need to stay at the hospital so that I will recover faster." While Mrs.Park explaining about the tumor that she had and she is on stage 4 to Sydney.
