Qi Xiu Yuan woke up at 6:30 in the morning, then turned on the lights and stared at Xiao Li's sleeping form for quite a long time.
It didn't take long for Xiao Li to become accustomed to his daily routine, but right now—as not per usual, he was still sound asleep. He was breathing calmly with a tranquil expression as if he was sleeping in the safest and most trusted place.
Seeing that, Qi Xiu Yuan could not help but to move in close to kiss his lips. He placed his hand on his warm skin and slowly caressed it.
When Xiao Li slightly moved in his sleep, Qi Xiu Yuan quickly retreated, afraid he would wake him up. He gently rolled over and got out of bed, washed up and went to the kitchen to make breakfast.
After he had finished washing the rice, he wanted to make an omelet but since he could never feel at ease without having Xiao Li in his line of sight for more than ten minutes, he raced back to the bedroom stared at his sleeping figure for a moment, lightly kissed his face a few times before returning to the kitchen.
Breakfast was made—it was a short distance from the kitchen to the bedroom, but Qi Xiu Yuan could feel his heart beat faster. He was itching to wake him up, look at his expression, listen to his voice, and he longed for him to continue to sleep—in his arms, under his shelter, he could sleep peacefully and easily.
He took a few steps toward the door only to find Xiao Li had already woke up and was sitting on the bed with his upper body exposed. His bare skin was completely marked with hickeys and fingerprints while his eyes were hung low, gazing at the quilt as if lost in thoughts.
Smiling, Qi Xiu Yuan walked over and asked, "What are you thinking?"
"Han Jia." Xiao Li did not look up at him and seemed to respond intuitively. His voice was hoarse with a trace of last night's passion lingering about.
Qi Xiu Yuan's face immediately darkened—he felt as if a cold bucket of water had just been poured on him.
"What are you thinking about him for?" He stood still and angrily asked.
Xiao Li looked up at him only to end up laughing when he saw Qi Xiu Yuan's expression. Before he could say something, Qi Xiu Yuan had already strode over and pressed him down on the bed. He then asked with a not so bright tone, "What are you thinking about him for?"
Xiao Li hissed and took a deep breath before reaching out to push him. "Get off, I'm going to break apart."
Qi Xiu Yuan hugged Xiao Li and flipped over so he could lie on his own body then asked with an unforgiving tone. "Why are you missing him?"
Looking at him with a somewhat uneasy expression, Xiao Li said, "I was thinking, Han Jia is much stronger than I am. This kind of thing is a lot more tiring than fighting."
In truth, Qi Xiu Yuan never expected to hear such an answer. He stared at Xiao Li, let out a small laugh then picked up his head to kiss him again and again while whispering softly at the side of his ear. "It's my fault, I couldn't hold back..."
Xiao Li's ears were already red, but even then he still tried his best to calmed himself. He lowered his head and returned a kiss then whispered back, "I'll go take a shower."
Honestly, Qi Xiu Yuan did not want to let him go at all. He looked at him with a calm expression to the point that his own heart ached. In the end, he didn't reach out to grab him.
Xiao Li got up off bed, but when both his feet touched the ground, it felt stiff then he swayed a bit as he stood up and slowly walked to the bathroom.
At that moment, Qi Xiu Yuan discovered that the tattoo on his back was already purple—it seemed to have been bruised and appeared horrible.
His eyes followed Xiao Li as he walked out of the bedroom for a moment before he averted it. After staring at the ceiling for a good while with a smile on his lips, he got up to tidy the bed.
He went to bedroom window then dragged the curtains to the side and cracked open the window.
In the early morning of autumn, the light was bright and warm and the air was slightly cold.
There was a similar morning several months ago when he awaken from a certain dream with a heart full of hopelessness, thinking that he could never be with that person.
How could he have predicted there would be such a day?
His shadow was in his eyes and his name was in his heart.
