As the early morning sun rose, you were woken up by someone trying to whisper but failing.
"Daddy! Daddy wake up, it's Mummy's Birthday" There was a groan from your husband
"Daddy!" there was a sigh and you silently smiled at you six year old son Kieran trying to wake Reggie. he left and you turned round. Staring at your husband. You and Reggie had married three years after graduating high school. He had gotten a scholarship to continue football and you had studied teaching. You became a teacher at a elementary school in New York which is where you moved to not long after finishing Riverdale High.
There was another giggle as Kieran came back into the room, you knew that giggle.

"Oh my god!"
"Shhhhhhh." You son silenced his father.
"Kieran, what are you doing?" they tried to have a silent conversation but you were already awake, though you didn't show it.
"It's Mummy's birthday, come on Daddy." you felt the bed raise and the two leave the room. You opened your eyes and chuckled. You know you should stay in bed but you were just too curious as to see what they were doing. You followed silently, better then they had done at least and walked down some of the stairs. You sat down and watched Reggie rubbing his eyes.
"Okay, what are we doing?" Reggie yawned
"Pancakes, those are Mummy's favourite."
"Chocolate chip?" Kieran nodded his head vigorously.
"I'm going to get my shoes on so I can pick some flowers." you moved into the shadows so your boy would see you as he went past. Reggie started measuring out the ingredients for the mix as Kieran came back in. and went out into the back garden.
You loved your family, you loved Reggie, he was a brilliant dad and found someone new to stroke his ego, Kieran wanted to be like his Dad one day and play football. When your two heard that Reggie flashed his muscles and Kieran copied
'Mantles the Magnificent' you silently laughed at the memory. Kieran came back in.
"Done Daddy"
"Atta boy. Why don't you get Mummy's present and card okay." Reggie continued to cook as Kieran did as he was asked
"Mummy's gonna love it."
"She sure is. And next time, no water, I'm only forgiving you this once cause it's Mummy's birthday."
"But you wouldn't wake up Daddy. I tried."
"There must be something else you can find." Reggie grumbled making the pancakes. Kieran climbed up onto a stool
"Daddy?"
"Yeah, kiddo."
"What was Mommy like when she was younger." Reggie looked at his son as you leaned forward a little
"Well your Mummy was very smart. and Kind, everything she is today. But she was special."
"Why?" he asked grabbing a apple and eating it
"Because she was one of the only ones to understand how funny and awesome I am." You covered your eyes, typical Reggie. Kieran giggled
"Even though Mummy says your ego is the size of America."
"She said that."
"And she said to Nana that sometimes you need two beds one for you and her and one for your ego." Reggie laughed
"Yeah that sounds like your Mum. and even though I apparently have the ego the size of America she still loves me and you. She puts up with and sometimes encourages the silly things that I say and do and if I go crazy she brings me back down to earth. She's one of a kind your Mum." The finished up
"Okay final touches." you stood up and ran back to bed, climbing under the covers and pretending you were asleep.
"Happy Birthday, to you..." they began to sing and you opened your eyes once more sitting up to their singing
"Oh thank you." they placed the tray down
"Happy Birthday Mummy."
"Thank you. Did you make this?"
"I helped Daddy and I picked the flowers, and I made this card." You opened the card it had his drawing of you him and Reggie
"It's beautiful." you gave him a kiss on his cheek and looked at Reggie.
"Happy Birthday baby."
"Thank you." you ate the pancakes
"Oh my favourite."
"Told you so." Kieran told his Dad
"Yes you did."

The morning after your birthday you woke up again, before Reggie, but this time you were the one to be sneaking around. Hearing about finding another way to be woken up you laughed and went to the garage looking for something. Once you found it. You went back into the house and too your son's room.
"Kieran, Kieran waken up."
"Mummy?"
"Shall we have some funny with Daddy?" you asked as he rubbed his eyes and saw the foghorn in your hand
"Yeah." you took his hand and lead him to your room.
"Okay take this, let me get my phone." You gave him the horn and grabbed your phone off its charger and began filming.
"Time to wake up daddy. Now" Kieran pushed down and made the loud noise.
"Arrrgh!" Reggie jumped up and rolled over, falling out of bed, there was a loud groan as you went to capture it on film.
"What do we say baby?" you looked down at your son and grinned
"Morning Daddy!" you two laughed as Reggie got up.
