synopsis
It was ironic that the girl named after a virgin goddess had lost her own in first year.
Artemis Avery was known for one thing: sleeping around. The witty Slytherin girl had a bad reputation, and did nothing to save it. On the contrary, she slept around with anyone. But more than anything, she had a secret. One that threatened to shatter her life, and herself.
When Regulus Black accidentally walks into Artemis Avery with his best friend one night, he doesn't think much of it. But when she storms off in the sobbing for no obvious reason, Regulus becomes curious.
Artemis is more than curious; she finds herself plagued with a strange dream that shows herself and Regulus near a shadowy lake. The moment she wakes up, she finds a terrible pain, one that never ceases unless she is standing near Regulus.
Driven by pain, Artemis allows herself to grow closer to the boy with dark eyes, and is alarmed at how quickly she grows to care for him. After a life of chasing ghosts, Artemis finally feels like she's found someone that won't disappear at dawn.
But nothing can last forever.

the badlands series
this is the prequel of the "badlands" series, "ghost", and is set in the mauraders era. it follows artemis avery and regulus black's story at hogwarts.
"gasoline" is book one of this series, and it is set during "the goblet of fire". cassius warrington is selected as the hogwarts champion, and the book is told through his point of view.
"haunting", book two of the series, and it follows persephone avery as she grieves over the loss of her boyfriend while fighting the ministry. it takes place during "the order of the phoenix".
book three, "control", follows hermione granger as she hides the lies she's made for herself through the events of "the half-blood prince".
"hold me down" is book four, and it follows dudley dursley after voldemort murders his parents, leaving him to venture into the wizarding world with his cousin, harry potter. this book follows the events of "the deathly hallows".
"i walk the line" is a novella that takes place during "goblet of fire" through "the deathly hallows", and it follows selene avery and her infatuation with hermione granger.
however, the series can be read in any order, as none of the books are yet completed.
