If you haven't started your period yet people have probably been telling you dreadful things about them.
"It's like having a shark biting your lower body!"
"You always feel horrible and ill when you're on your periods! "
This is just some of the rubbish people told me before I started having periods. Needless to say, I was terrified about having my first period. Some people get pains in their stomach when they are on their periods. This is perfectly normal and the pains are called menstrual cramps. They may sound terrible but they are not that bad. And I'm pretty sure the pain isn't as bad as being bitten by a shark! Some people do feel a bit under the weather around 'that time of the month' but it's never that bad. In fact if you don't tell them people won't even notice your on your period.
