Everything was perfect. I was 5 years old. I was at home with my mother Edna, and my older brother Sam. Sam was 16. at 11 years older than I, he was my hero. My idol. The very person i looked up to. He got great grades, he had an amazing girlfriend who, if i may say so, seemed to like me very much. He was captian of the football team. He was the definition of perfect.
It was my birthday. Sam, Edna, my father, Erik, and I were all going out to the park to celebrate. We had packed a picnic. Sam even made a cake. I was so excited. When we arrived at the park, Edna set out a blanked and started to set out the picnic, while Sam, Erik, and i played some catch with a frisbee.
It was a bright, sunny day. There were no clouds in the sky. I could smell the scent of fall in the crisp october day, yet there was not a chil in the air. It was like the heavens had arranged a special day, just for me.
Little did i know, this would be the last time i would laugh and play with Edna, Erik, and Sam...
