Cronus is the Titan of time and the ages and is also associated with agriculture. He represents the destructive aspect of time and the cycle of birth, life, and death. His name is derived from the Greek word "kronos," meaning "time," emphasising his role as a god of time.

Cronus overthrew his father Uranus and ruled during the Golden Age. However, fearing that his own children would overthrow him, he swallowed them at birth. Zeus eventually defeated Cronus and became the ruler of the Olympian gods.
