You were my leason

Sometimes life teaches us a lesson
Normally we think of it as a situation
But this time, my lesson had a face.
A face with bright blue eyes
A warm smile that made the darkest rooms feel bright
Brown golden hair that curled perfectly at the tips
You were my sun
My rainbow
My happiness
The air I breathed
But what was I to you?
I was your rain
Your moon
I was your pain
Your sorrow
Your anger
Your hate
Why would you say you loved me
Yet look at me with such hate
Maybe that was my lesson
That even the beautiful things in life can hurt you
