Gracie and Madelyn had been together for about 2 and a half months. Both of them enjoyed every second of it. Madelyn was still a little bit anxious when they went out together in public, but it was something she was working on. Neither of them had ever officially come out to the public, but everyone knew that they were dating. Gracie was really busy, she was opening for Taylor Swift in a few days. Obviously she was excited about it, but the nerves made her stomach turn at every moment during the day. Madelyn was also busy, she was doing photoshoots and brand deals, but she would accompany Gracie to her first Eras tour performance in Arizona.

Gracie arrived at Madelyn's apartment and noticed that she had ordered pizza. Gracie knew she probably wasn't going to be able to eat, her levels of anxiety were extreme. Instead of eating, Madelyn cuddled Gracie and gave her lots of kisses.
"You're going to do amazing. You know that right?" Madelyn asked as she ran her fingers through Gracie's hair.
Gracie nodded.
"I know you're scared, but I'll be there. And so will your parents. We're all gonna be there for you." Madelyn said. She wanted Gracie to know that she had a big support system. Madelyn was feeling a little anxious too because she hadn't met Gracie's parents yet, and meeting the parents for the first time was always nerve racking.
Gracie smiled. "Thank you." She whispered.
Madelyn held her girlfriend in her arms for the rest of the night. She tried to make Gracie to feel protected and loved before her big day.

The day had arrived. Madelyn had a photoshoot in the morning so she flew to Arizona separately later that day. She checked in with Gracie to make sure she got there safely.

Madelyn arrived in Arizona soon after, it was a short flight. The concert was starting soon so she went straight to the stadium. She didn't want to text Gracie, she knew Gracie had a specific routine she had to do before she performed to get into the right mindset. Madelyn was excited, she had never seen Gracie or Taylor perform before. She met up with Gracie's friend Abby, who followed and helped Gracie whenever she had a show. Abby introduced Madelyn to Gracie's parents, and they got to know each other in the VIP tent. Madelyn was having a good time, she really liked Gracie's parents, and she could tell that they liked her back.
"I'm gonna go check on Gracie." Abby said.
"Ok, tell her I said good luck!" Madelyn replied.
Madelyn poured herself and drink and continued to talk with JJ and Katie, Gracie's parents. A few minutes later, Abby came back with a worried expression on her face. She discreetly walked up to Madelyn and whispered close to her ear.
"Gracie needs to talk to you." Abby said.
"Is everything ok?" Madelyn asked worriedly.
Abby shrugged. "She's really nervous. I think she just wants a hug from you." She replied.
Madelyn nodded and put down her drink. Madelyn was surprised that Gracie asked for her, and not her mom, but she was glad she would be able to see Gracie before she went on stage. She followed Abby backstage and Abby pointed to the where Gracie was before leaving the two alone.
Madelyn hurried over to Gracie who looked beautiful. She was wearing a long flowy white dress and her hair was clipped back.
"Hey." Madelyn said calmly, approaching Gracie from behind.
Gracie jumped nervously.
"Hey, it's just me. It's me." Madelyn reassured her, placing her hand on Gracie's elbow. Gracie was visibly panicking. Her eyes were glossy and she was shaky and fidgety.
"Hi." Gracie whispered as she exhaled.
Madelyn opened her arms, allowing Gracie to sink into her body. Madelyn hugged her tightly and rubbed her back.
"What's going on?" Madelyn asked.
"I'm so nervous Mads. I can't do it, I can't." Gracie said, resting her chin on Madelyn's shoulder. Madelyn could tell that Gracie was now crying.
"Gracie, I know you're scared, but you can do it." Madelyn said.
Gracie didn't let go from Madelyn's hug. "I-I can't."
"Hey, G, take a deep breath." Madelyn instructed.
Gracie breathed shakily. Madelyn knew she had to do something to reassure her.
"Come over here." Madelyn said, pointing to the entrance to the stage.
"No, I don't want to look at the crowd." Gracie replied, shaking her head vigorously.
"I need to show you something, you don't have to look at the crowd." Madelyn responded.
Both girls peeked their heads out and Madelyn pointed to the VIP tent in the distance.
"See that?" Madelyn asked, squeezing Gracie's hand.
Gracie nodded.
"I'm gonna be right there the whole time. Me, Abby, and your mom and dad are all in there, ok? If it helps, just look there. I'll be looking at you, you can look at me." Madelyn said as she rubbed her thumb against Gracie's hand. She was really hoping that this would calm Gracie, because she didn't know what else to say or do to relax her.
"Ok." Gracie whispered.
"Ok?" Madelyn checked.
Gracie nodded.
"You're gonna do great, I'm so proud of you." Madelyn said.
Madelyn pulled Gracie by the hand away from the stage where she hugged her again.
"You're on in 3 minutes." An assistant said.
Gracie nodded and put on a brave face. "Ok, thanks."
"Is it possible to get a bottle of water? And a straw please?" Madelyn asked him politely before he walked away.
"Yeah, of course." He replied.
He returned with what Madelyn asked for. She thanked him and opened the water, placing the straw inside. She held it up to Gracie's lips.
"C'mon, take a few sips." Madelyn said.
Gracie did as she said. Madelyn stroked the side of Gracie's arm as she drank the water. When she was done, Madelyn wiped the smeared makeup from under Gracie's eyes. It had been messed up slightly from her crying.
"Ok, I have to go now." Madelyn said.
Gracie's breathing hitched.
"You're ok." Madelyn assured her.
Madelyn gave Gracie a kiss on the lips. They touched noses and lovingly looked into each others eyes. Madelyn then playfully squeezed Gracie's butt to make her laugh, which she did. Madelyn winked and they both giggled.
"I love you." Madelyn said.
"I love you too." Gracie replied.
"See you out there." The blonde responded.
Gracie nodded and smiled through her nervousness. Madelyn looked back at Gracie as she walked away. She was so in love with that girl. Madelyn rejoined Gracie's family in the tent.
"Is everything ok?" Katie asked.
"Yeah, she's nervous." Madelyn replied.
"Understandable. Look how many people are out here." JJ said, eyeing the crowd.
Soon after, the music started playing and Gracie skipped out onto the stage. Madelyn smiled, she was worried for a minute that Gracie would back out. As Madelyn recommended, Gracie looked directly into their tent the whole time, specifically into Madelyn's eyes. Madelyn blushed, Gracie was singing her songs at Madelyn, she was so happy and proud of her girlfriend. The two girls didn't break eye contact once. Madelyn blew Gracie a kiss and mouthed I love you to her. Gracie grinned and her cheeks turned pink. They were both smitten.
