You woke up with a groggy head and a heavy heart. A heavy sigh escaped your lips when your phone was filled with notifications that weren't from him. It's been two days since you last heard from Dabi. No texts, no calls, no showing up, nothing. At first, you tried to brush it off, not wanting to come across as clingy or insecure. However, as the hours turned into days, a growing unease settled deep within you.

Getting out of bed, you went through your usual morning routine, trying to distract yourself from the nagging worry that gnawed at you. It was eating you alive, and you didn't know how to deal with it. Which was why today you decided that you wouldn't ignore it any longer. You needed answers. You needed to know if Dabi was okay. Moreover, you wanted reassurance that he still felt the same.

As you finished getting ready for work, your resolve grew stronger. Without overthinking it, you found yourself standing in front of Dabi's door, hesitant but determined. You couldn't help but wring your hands together nervously. You were repeatedly telling yourself that this was normal as you took a deep breath and knocked, hoping for a familiar voice to reassure you.

To your surprise, the door creaked open, revealing a stranger on the other side. Your eyes widened as you took in the unfamiliar face. It was evident that you were stunned; however, the woman didn't seem to care. She had a scowl on her face as she looked you up and down. It was clear that she didn't like you, as her words were full of resentment.

"Tch, so you're the girl he left me for," the woman said with a venomous sneer.

At that moment, your heart sank at her words, and confusion clouded your mind. You had no idea that there was another woman in Dabi's life beside the blonde girl with messy buns. Your initial shock was immediately replaced by a mixture of hurt and jealousy.

Swallowing the lump in your throat, you managed to find your voice and mustered the courage to do what you came here for. "Um, I... I just wanted to check up on Dabi. Is he here?" You asked, your voice barely above a whisper.

The woman's scowl deepened as she crossed her arms, blocking the doorway. "He's busy," she responded curtly. "Showering, to be exact. What do you want?"

Disappointment washed over your entire being. You had hoped to see Dabi, to find solace in his presence and reassurance in his words, but instead, you were met with your worst nightmare.

"I see... so he's well," you mumbled under your breath, your voice laced with disappointment. "Well, I'm sorry for bothering you both," you managed to say without a waver in your voice before flashing her the best smile you could make, trying to hide your wounded feelings.

Without saying a word, the woman slammed the door in your face, causing a gust of wind to brush against your skin. With that, your shoulders slumped in defeat as you turned to walk away. Your mind was filled with unanswered questions and a heavy sense of betrayal.

Every step you took felt heavy, as if the weight of your heartbreak was physically burdening you. Tears welled up in your eyes as you struggled to make sense of the situation. You had believed that Dabi cared for you and that you were building something special with him. However, seeing another woman in his apartment, someone he had never mentioned, shattered that illusion.

Confusion mingled with jealousy, fueling the ache in your chest. Doubts crept into your mind, whispering that you had been too naive to trust him so easily. Were you just a passing fling for him? Was all he wanted your body? You couldn't help but think about the last question, as the last time you'd seen him was the day you gave him everything.

As the steam filled the bathroom, Dabi finished showering and towel-dried his disheveled black hair. He glanced at himself in the fogged-up mirror, his piercing blue eyes seemingly piercing through his own reflection. With a sigh, he reached for the pile of clothes that lay on top of the countertop.

Taking his time, Dabi meticulously buttoned up his usual suit, the dark fabric clinging to his tall and lean yet muscular frame. Adjusting his jacket collar, he strode out of his bedroom, his irritation masked behind an expression as cold as ice.

To his surprise, Maki, his ex-girlfriend, was still lingering in his apartment. He thought they had concluded their conversation and that she would have left, but she didn't.

Irritated, Dabi ran a hand through his hair and glanced at Maki. Her presence annoyed him more than he cared to admit, and he couldn't help but wonder why she was still here. With a scowl on his face, he asked her bluntly, "Why the fuck are you still here?"

Maki stared at him with an unreadable expression on her face. Instead of answering his question, she casually dropped a bombshell. "Your bitch knocked on the door earlier," she said, her voice filled with passive aggression.

Anger coursed through Dabi's veins, his eyes narrowing at the revelation. His blood was boiling as he shouted at Maki, not caring if his voice echoed through the walls. "Don't you fucking call her that! She's not just some bitch, she's everything to me!"

Maki simply smirked before responding, "I remember when I used to be your everything." Her voice was laced with nostalgia and bitterness as she spoke, reminiscing about her past with Dabi.

However, he wasn't having any of it. His patient had already worn thin, and he was done dealing with Maki's toxic presence. He pointed towards the door, his voice laced with a threatening tone. "Get the hell out of my apartment, Maki. Now. Or I'll make you regret ever making a deal with me."

Maki's smirk widened, revealing a dangerous glint in her eyes. She knew she had riled him up, and it pleased her. With a flick of her hair, she stood up, taunting him before finally leaving. The air in the room instantly felt lighter as she exited, but Dabi could still feel the remnants of her manipulative energy lingering.

Once she was gone, he groaned in frustration, his hand gripping his hair tightly. He hated how easily Maki could get under his skin and how she always knew how to push his buttons. But this time, she crossed a line by insulting you.

He glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing that he had wasted enough time. He needed to be with you, to reassure you, and to make it clear that Maki's words meant nothing. With a determined sigh, Dabi quickly finished putting his shoes on, not bothering to fix his disheveled hair.

He hadn't expected you to meet Maki or, moreover, talk to her. Though he knew it was going to happen sooner or later, he didn't expect it to be this soon. How was he supposed to explain the whole situation to you without messing up even more?

You pushed open the glass door of the small bakery shop and stepped into the warm and inviting atmosphere. The smell of freshly baked goods filled your senses immediately, and the soft jingle of the door signaled your arrival. Hinata greeted you instantly, flashing a bright smile, and you quickly returned a forced smile. The last thing you want is for your coworkers to know about your personal issues.

"Good morning, Y/N!" Hinata exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "You're just in time!"

You nodded, returning Hinata's smile with a tight-lipped grin, masking your pain as you glanced over at your manager, who was going about her tasks with the same bright smile plastered on her face.

As you prepared to start your shift, your manager approached you with a request. "Y/N, I need you to deliver a few pastries to the building down the block. Think you can handle it?"

The distraction was a welcome relief, and you eagerly agreed. You knew you couldn't refuse, not when you needed a distraction from your crowded thoughts. "Of course, I'd be happy to do it. Anything to help."

With a nod of approval, your manager handed you a few boxes filled with delectable treats, their sweet aroma wafting up and momentarily numbing your pain. You walked out of the bakery, trying your best to push the thoughts of Dabi out of your mind. However, the memory of the encounter with the woman in his apartment today lingered, stabbing at your wounded heart.

Unbeknownst to you, just moments after your departure, Dabi entered the shop with a sense of urgency. His eyes darted around, scanning the familiar faces of your coworkers, desperately searching for you. His heart raced with worry, and he couldn't shake off the anxious feeling in his stomach.

"Excuse me," Dabi called out, his voice laced with concern. "Have any of you seen Y/N? I'm looking for her."

Hinata exchanged a concerned glance with Ms. Suzuki, fully aware of Dabi's importance to you. Moreover, Dabi was no stranger. He was a regular customer and oftentimes found himself talking to you, which made Hinata and Ms. Suzuki assume he was your lover. Though they weren't given much information, they knew you and Dabi had something going on. Still, they couldn't breach your privacy, not without your permission.

"I'm sorry, sir," Ms. Suzuki replied, her tone gentle yet firm. "We respect our employees' privacy, and we can't disclose their personal information."

Dabi's disappointment was palpable as he turned to leave, his steps weighted with a mix of frustration and longing. He was desperate to find you and make sure you were okay, but the lack of answers left him feeling helpless.

Just then, the idea of texting you popped into his mind, but his phone was nowhere to be found. It was then that he realized he was in such a rush that he forgot to take his phone with him. Frustrated, he drove back to his apartment to grab his phone, his hands tightening on the steering wheel as if it had done something wrong.

As you set the boxes of pastries down on a desk, a familiar voice echoed from behind you. Your heart raced as you stood frozen in place. You knew that voice well enough that you didn't have to turn around to see who it was. That voice belonged to none other than Kai Chisaki, your fiancé.

What was he doing here? And more importantly, how did he find you? The questions swirled in your mind, creating a tornado of anxiety. Was it just a mere coincidence that you happened to deliver here? You knew one thing for sure, and that was that he didn't work here, so it must be related to his business.

Snapping yourself out of your thoughts, you could feel his presence behind you before you felt his arm wrap itself around your waist. A shiver ran down your spine as a result of his sudden touch, and a startled gasp escaped your lips as you jerked upward.

Kai's voice dripped with amusement as he chuckled softly. "Relax, my pretty fiancé," he whispered into your ear, his warm breath tickling your skin. The sound of his deep voice sent a chill down your spine, and your body remained tense, refusing to relax under his touch.

You didn't want him to touch you, ever.

Your voice trembled as you mustered the courage to speak. "Do not touch me," you managed to say, your voice laced with defiance and fear. However, Kai only laughed, his grip on your waist tightening slightly and his gloved fingertips digging into your skin. He seemed unfazed by your protest, almost finding amusement in your discomfort.

"Who says I can't touch my fiancé?" he replied, a twisted smirk playing on his lips. His voice held a hint of arrogance, emphasizing his possessiveness. Still, you didn't dare look him in the eye, as your gaze remained fixed on the ground.

With a deep breath, you forced yourself to break free of Kai's hold, stepping away from him. You mustered a smile and looked up at Kai. "Well, I should get going," you said, your voice steady but your heart pounding. "Have a good day," you added, your voice maintaining a professional tone.

As you began to walk away, your heart was still racing. It wasn't out of love or anything you've ever felt before. It was horror and fear—something you've never wished to experience or feel. Still, your pace quickened as the shock of the encounter with your fiancé flashed through your mind.
