Yours, WQ ❤︎

"Capo and his family will come back today. But we heard that they were bringing back someone with them" I heard one of the older guys say.

I worked with the Italian-French mafia ever since the Lombardino brothers (Romano and Zavier) saved my life that day.

As soon as I heard that a girl was coming with them, I wondered who she was and why did they take an interest in her.

I have always felt so lonely and alone, I felt abandoned. Even though I found a new home here and a job, I have always felt a void in my heart as if I was missing something.

I brushed that feeling off and started to head toward my room.

I finished my mission yesterday so I shouldn't be having more work until a week or so, but there may be some emergency between now and next week.

I decided to call it a night and just head to bed.

But I couldn't help but wonder who this girl was.

Was she nice? Or would be one of those bitchy sluts they would always get? Was she a victim like me too?

So many thoughts were swirling through my head.

As I was about to enter my room, I saw a shadow walking in the hallway.

Nobody would ever come down here because this was mostly where the member of the mafia would stay and only we can come here.

LYRA THRONE

After Lyra finished playing that song on the piano, I couldn't help myself but embrace her.

I felt like I knew something else was wrong here and it wasn't just about the current situation, it was as if she was pouring out her emotions, stress, anger, and sadness into that piece.

Hearing her despair through the musiy didn't settle well with me.

As soon as I threw myself on her, I embraced her in my arms.

She was hesitant and threw questions at me as to why I was behaving the way I was, this was new to me too.

I was never one to show any trace of emotions to anyone, no matter how close I consider them to be.

But with her, I felt like I could just be myself around her as if I could just be who I truly was without putting up an act that I usually do around people.

We stayed like that, in each other's embrace basking in the comfort we both offered each other.

I heard her stomach growl and I couldn't help but chuckle at that.

She pouted cutely.

"Are you hungry Ly?" I asked her.

The nickname just slipped out, I hope it was alright with her.

Ugh! What is wrong with me, why do I care about her opinion so much? And why does every time that I see her struggle I feel a protective wave wash over me?

"Stop teasing me, and yes am a little hungry" she stated as she smiled sheepishly.

"Come on then! Let's go eat" I said as I helped her stand up.

I quickly held her hand and started to walk, guiding her along the way.

We chatted about random topics on our way to the kitchen, I didn't miss the curious and disbelieving faces that came my way.

I didn't give one shit about what they thought of me but if I saw caught them staring at Ly unnecessarily I would full and go protective mode and glare at them.

We reached the kitchen and I made her sit down on a kitchen counter and asked, "So what would you like to eat Ma'am?" in a fancy French voice.

She giggled and I swear that was the most purest and beautiful sound that I have ever heard.

"Anything would do" she replied softly.

"Alright! Anything coming right up!" I played along with my fancy French accent.

She smiled at me and leaned on the counter.

I wanted to make her something healthy but also fulfilling so I decided to make her my favorite dish Pasta.

As I was cooking, we both talked and were playing 21 questions, getting to know each other.

I kept the environment as light as possible so she doesn't get too uncomfortable, I didn't want to pry too much into her life because I think it should be up to her if she wanted to talk to me about it or not.

"My my, is what I am seeing the truth, or are my eyes deceiving me?" I heard that annoying prick Cassian's voice.

"Hello bambina," he said to her as he spotted her slouched on the kitchen counter.

"Hey Cassian" she replied politely.

"Alright, your Pasta is ready!" I announced to her.

"Don't tell me you made your famous Pasta! I want some too" I heard Cassian yell childishly.

He was about to steal some from the pot but I hit his hand before it could reach the pasta.

"It wasn't made for you! Go get your own, this is for us two only" I stated.

I saw Lyra trying to hide her smile.

"Why won't you let him eat too?" Lyra asked innocently.

"I made this for us to share and eat because I wanted to have a mini picnic with you outside. Do you wanna go now then?" I said.

"A picnic? With me?" Lyra asked.

"Yes with you, who else?" I deadpanned.

She had this sad look come over her face that broke my heart to see, did nobody ever invite her to a picnic before?

"Now come on! Let's go outside and eat!" I said excitedly.

"What NO!! I wanna join you guys too, please!" Cass pleaded.

"Ly! Come on! Am I, not your favorite brother?" he asked innocently.

"Uhh yes of course you can join us Cassian" she stated.

I gave her a disbelief look and said, "Are you serious?"

"Yes, it's rude to say no to someone now come on!" she said and got down from her stool.

I groaned but complied.

I picked up a basket and placed our things into it along with a tablecloth, glasses, and beverages.

I then took hold of Ly's hand and started to walk towards the garden area.

"Wait for me!" I heard Cass yell before he took the other hand of Lyra's and walked with us.

I and Cass guided Ly so that it can be easier for her to follow along with us without having to slow down.

As we walked towards the garden, I could almost feel the excitement radiating off of Lyra, she was weirdly so happy and excited.

I felt really happy that it was me who created that happiness for her. And I wanted to see that smile on her face forever.

As soon as the gazebo came into view I made Ly sit there first before me and Cass set up the picnic and help her sit down.

"Cass! Help me out here will ya?" I shouted at him.

"Ya coming" he replied running to where I was.

As we were engrossed in trying to set up our picnic, I didn't pay attention to our surroundings at all.

We reached the kitchen and I made her sit down on a kitchen counter and asked, "So what would you like to eat Ma'am?" in a fancy French voice.

Shsmiled at mele and leaned on the counter.

As we were engrossed in trying to set up our picnic, I didn't pay attention to our surroundings at all.

I was worried about Lyra so I decided to turn around and see what she was doing and to my surprise, she was happily humming to herself as she pet a dog that somehow found her.

"Ly!" I called out to her to get her attention.

"Ya?" she replied.

"We are done setting up, do you wanna come here?" I asked her.

"Yes that would be great," she said.

I walked up to her and took her hand, she got up from her place and clung to me.

Not that I minded one bit.

I discretely saw that the dog she was petting was also following her as if she was everything to him and he couldn't survive without her.

I helped her sit down and she started to feel the things around her to get used to her surroundings.

I have observed that she would do that unconsciously most of the time, maybe that's how she understands the world around her.

I didn't want to question it and just let it be.

"Ly! Come on, eat this pasta I am sure you will love it" I heard Cass say as he handed her a plate and a fork.

He placed them on her lap and made her hold the fork.

And just like that we were chatting, laughing, teasing, and eating out.

It felt so surreal that I kept smiling for the whole day without anyone forcing me to do it. It felt good to be myself again.

It was all thanks to Lyra, if it probably wasn't for her, I wouldn't have been so sure of me being so comfortable around people.

As we finished up our lunch I saw that Ly was shivering from the cold.

"Ly, are you cold?" I questioned her softly.

She gave me a nod.

"Shit" I mentally cursed myself.

"Do wanna go inside?" I asked her hoping she wants to go inside and warm up a bit.

"No it's fine" she repliek.

"Alright then wait here a second, I will go and bring you a jacket," I said and left.

I quickly got up and jogged towards the back entrance of the mansion and got in. I took a sharp turn and headed toward my secret room.

I quickly unlocked the door and frantically searched for my jacket.

When I found them, there wasn't anyone happier than me right now.

I quickly grabbed the smallest jacket that I owned and dashed outside.

As I neared them, I saw Ly was still shivering a bit and Cass was trying to start a fire to warm her up a bit.

"Ly! Here you go!" I said as I helped her put on my jacket.

It was a warm fuzzy coat that I didn't like all that much, but seeing Ly with it made me rethink my decision.

"Are you still cold? Do you need something else? Maybe we should just go inside? I-" Before I could finish my ranting, I was cut off but a chuckle.

Not just anyone's but Ly's! I haven't seen her chuckle or even laugh out loud but something told me that this was one of those rare times that she ever laughed wholeheartedly.

I felt like I could figure out her emotions like my own for some reason.

She sobered up after a couple of seconds and said, "I am good now, we don't need to go inside" without a trace of Sutter or fear for the first time.

"O-ok," I said in shock.

I snapped out of it and sat down next to her.

"Do you want me to serve you my famous pasta?" I asked her.

She gave me a nod and a cute smile.

I grinned and quickly got up to get the picnic basket that I got.

I served the pasta on three plates, one for each of us.

"Here you go Madam," I said in the most terrible British accent as I tried to pose as a waiter.

I probably looked like an A-grade idiot, but She nonetheless giggled and took her plate from me.

"Thank you kind sir" she played along making my grin wider.

I heard a cough beside me and I found Cass looking at me with raised eyebrows.

I didn't show it on the outside but I was freaking out on the inside.

"I never saw this playful side of yours until now Acey, it's quite amusing to watch" I heard him snicker.

I grumbled incoherent words and stomped back to where Ly was sitting and sat beside her as I eat my food.

Cass chuckled at my misery and sat on the other side of Ly.

The three of us ate our lunch in peace as we all admired nature.

I smiled looking ahead, I never thought I would ever laugh or even smile this much in one day, life was never in my way.

I faced too many dark things in life, but with Ly, I could just be me. I didn't have to pretend to be some strong guy just because I had to.

I felt like I could show my emotions to her, I had a strong bond with her that made it all that much more comfortable for me to be with her.

I glanced at her only to see her eyes closed as a small smile played on her lips.

I sighed and turned back around to admire nature.

Today was good, I finally felt like myself in years, and I am never letting that smile slip away from Ly's face. NEVER.
