The Marines all stared in shock at the sight of the Going Merry.
Ahab: What is that?!
Jezebel: Judging by the flag on it...
Zurra: It's the Straw Hat's pirate ship!
Ahab: But how?
Jezebel: Is it alive?
Zurra: There have been legends that speak of a spirit that dwells within a ship.
Jezebel: A spirit?
Zurra: It's an incarnation of a ship that has developed a life of its own because it was well cared for and loved.
Ahab: So the Straw Hats' ship was so loved and cared for...
Jezebel: That it developed a life of its own. Incredible.
(Y/N): Hurry! Jump into the sea!
Robin and Zoro helped carry (Y/N) over to the edge of the bridge. They all jumped off together.
Nami, Sanji, and Kokoro jumped off while carrying Chimney, Gonbe, and Chopper. Usopp and Franky followed.
Zurra: Onto the ship! Now!!
The three Nephilim members jumped off.
Pretty soon, all of the Straw Hats, Franky, Nephilim, Kokoro, Chimney, and Gonbe were on the Going Merry.
Chopper: <sobbing> It's Merry! The Going Merry! Oh, I love you, Going Merry!!
Franky: I...I can't believe it. Wasn't the ship destroyed?!
Nami: Who brought it here?!
Zurra: Your love for the ship did.
(Y/N): What?
Zoro: We'll figure it out later! Everyone, take your positions! We're getting out of here!
Luffy: Phew! That was close! I thought the warships were going to kill us.
(Y/N): <smirking> We're not out of this yet.
He was leaning against the railing of the Going Merry. His body still hurt bad.
Luffy: Hey, Robin! Thanks for help— Mmph!!
Robin used her Devil Fruit power to create a hand that covered his mouth.
Robin: <smiling> Thank you, everyone.
All of the Straw Hats and Franky grinned.
Luffy: Don't worry about it! Hee hee hee!!
Zoro: Save the pointless chatter for after we escape!
Sanji attacked Zoro with a kick.
Sanji: Whaddaya mean "pointless," Mosshead?!
Zoro: Shut up! If we die, it was all for nothing!!
Chopper bit Zoro's leg, angrily.
Chopper: Apologize to Robin!!
(Y/N): Don't fight right now, you idiots!!
Robin smiled and sat next to (Y/N). They intertwined their hands.
Nami: Sanji, take the helm!
Sanji: Anything you say, Nami! <3
Unfortunately, Spandam appeared and ordered the Marines the destroy the Going Merry including Robin on orders from Admiral Aokiji (which was a lie).
Usopp: They're aiming at us!!
Nami: Catch the wind from starboard and head east!!
As the cannons started firing at the Going Merry, all of the attacks missed and hit each other.
Usopp: They blew themselves up?!
(Y/N): None of their shots are cene close to us.
Ahab: What just happened?
Jezebel: Look!
She pointed to the Gates of Justice which were closing.
Zurra: They're closing! The sea currents blocked by the gates are generating a whirlpool that are throwing off the Marines' sights!
(Y/N): Why would the Marines close the gates?
Sanji: Phew! Better than I expected!
Usopp: Sanji! Don't tell me you—!
Sanji: <smirking> We weren't gonna make it out with hard work alone.
He tapped his head and grinned.
Luffy: You're a genius!
Zoro: We aren't out of the woods yet. The whirlpool's a threat to us too!!
Chopper: Uh, right!! We're going to die!!
Nami: Hush, you guys! There is no sea the Going Merry can't cross!!
They began to steer the Going Merry across the sea and away from the warships.
(Y/N): One of the warships is firing at us!
Zoro and Sanji grabbed Luffy and swung his body, hitting the cannonballs and deflecting them back at the warship, hitting it.
The three held up peace signs and made a weird face.
Usopp: You guys are demons!!
(Y/N): <chuckling> Amazing!
He flinched in pain. Robin giggled.
The pirates were able to steer the Going Merry and ride the current of the whirlpool at amazing speed. The warships kept missing their shots.
Spandam: Argh!! Those pests!! Armed with the full military might of Enies Lobby and the high-level firepower of the Buster Call, why can't we take one single woman from some measly pirates?!!
Robin then summoned multiple arms on Spandam's body and promptly broke his spine.
(Y/N) kissed Robin on the cheek.
(Y/N): Good work!
Robin: <giggling> I had to take some form of revenge on him.
A warship began to move in front of the Going Merry. Nami looked at Franky, Zurra, Jezebel, and Ahab who stood in the back of the ship.
Nami: Now, you guys!
Franky: Got it!
Ahab: Yes, ma'am!
Jezebel: Fool! Don't say that! We don't take orders from her!
Zurra: Just do it. It's the only way we can even survive.
Franky: Coup de Vent!!!!
Nephilim: Dark Magic: Breath of Leviathan!!!!
The combined efforts of the four blasted the Going Merry into the sky at incredible speed.
Usopp also used Kabuto to launch a smoke screen, blocking the Marines' view.
Marines: We'll follow them!! It can't end like this!!
Admiral Aokiji stood in the sea with his bicycle, arms folded across his chest.
Aokiji: That's enough. Looking at this fleet and the island, it's obvious that for us this incident was a complete and utter defeat.

The Going Merry drifted on the calm sea. The Straw Hats moved Luffy on top of the Going Merry's figurehead.
Luffy: We escaped because of you. Thanks, Merry!
Franky: But now you guys are in a lot of trouble. You've sullied the flag of the World Government.
Zurra: They'll remember that. And they aren't easy to forgive either.
Luffy: We just took back what they took from us!
He looked at Robin, who was holding (Y/N)'s hand and smiled brightly.
Everyone: WE WON THE FIGHT!!!
A little while later, Nami walked up to the crew.
Nami: There really is no one else here.
Sanji: That's weird.
Zoro: I'm sure I heard a voice calling us.
Kokoro: Really?
Robin: Yes, someone called us.
(Y/N): I'd never heard their voice before though.
Luffy: Like I told you, that was the Going Merry!!
Chopper: Huh?! Really?!
Luffy: Right, Merry?! Say something!
Zoro: Idiot. Ships don't talk.
Nami: I thought the same thing, but that's impossible, isn't it?
Usopp (who was back as Sogeking) and Franky stayed silent.
Zurra, Jezebel, and Ahab all looked at each other.
Luffy turned to (Y/N), whose body still hurt.
Luffy: You got injured badly, huh?
(Y/N): I'm all right. I'd rather be hurt like this forever than lose Robin forever.
Robin: How sweet.
She kissed his forehead.
Luffy: WHAAAAT??!! You're in love??!!!
Everyone: YOU'VE NEVER NOTICED THAT??!!! 💢
(Y/N) looked at Zurra and his followers.
(Y/N): I suppose I must thank you for saving me earlier. Although, I'll never forgive you for sealing the devil in me.
Zurra: And I'll never apologize for doing that.
Zoro: Why did you save him anyway?
Zurra: (Y/N)'s demeanor really surprised me. I thought he'd be sulky, irritable, and hateful, but he turned out to be the exact opposite.
Sanji: What do you mean?
Zurra: That's usually how a devil host acts. Being so surrounded by a creature that evil extends to the host as well. And yet...
He looked at (Y/N) and Robin.
Zurra: He seems happy, goofy, and has even found love. I've never seen a devil host like that in all of my years. It'd be a shame if such a specimen were to die. I want to see if he can live out the rest of his life just like that.
(Y/N) looked surprised.
Zurra: That would indeed be the ultimate comeuppance for the devil, (Y/N). That you can live a happy and meaningful life full of laughter and love even while it sits within you.
Jezebel: Is such a thing even possible?
Zurra: That's why I want to find out. It may not be possible.
Nami: Why not?
Zurra: Every devil is pure evil. That's all it is and all it ever will be. Good is entirely foreign to it. The more happiness and love (Y/N) feels the more hateful the devil grows. It's ultimate goal is to take over the host's body, and when it sees said host being happy, it will only want to ruin that happiness even more.
Luffy: And we'd never let that happen!
(Y/N): <smirking> Right.
Zurra: You can say that all you want, but if the day comes when the devil takes over, you will be utterly helpless to stop it.
Chopper: Helpless?
Zurra: No living organism on this world can even hope to compare to the power of a devil. Not even the strongest creature to ever live could hold a candle to it. Think of the strongest person you know.
The crew thought about it for a moment.
Zurra: One flick of a devil's finger could kill them instantly. That's all it will take.
Franky: <to (Y/N)> I had no idea you were a devil host.
(Y/N): I try not to let it be my identity. I did back on Gravebone Island, and that only made me feel worse.
Talking about Gravebone Island reminded him of Aimi. He sighed and closed his eyes.
Robin: Are you all right?
(Y/N): Not really...
Robin: What's wrong?
Before he could answer, Luffy's voice interrupted.
Luffy: Hmm? A ship is coming from over there!
Sogeking: Huh?! Who is it?!
Luffy: It's a Galley-La Comapny ship!!
Everyone turned and saw a Galley-La ship floating over to the Going Merry. Everyone on board was cheering.
Galley-La: Hey! It's the Straw Hats! They're alive! Wow! I thought their ship was lost in the Aqua Laguna! I can't believe it! They're coming back from Enies Lobby!
Iceberg stood in front of the cheering workers.
Luffy: Ice guy!!
Franky: Baka-berg.
Iceberg: What a crazy lot. You really got back everything from the World Government!
All of a sudden, the bow of the Going Merry broke off of the rest of the ship. The people on board cried out.
Luffy: Huh...?
Sogeking: Merry!!
Galley-La: Look! Their ship!
Luffy: How could the Going Merry fall apart all of a sudden?
(Y/N): It's not sudden at all. It's only natural.
Luffy: Huh?
Sanji: Yeah. Merry had already been deemed unfit ever to sail again. Surely you haven't forgotten that.
Luffy: But—! Ice guy! The Going Merry is in trouble!! Do something!! You guys are just in time!! Aren't you all shipwrights? Please!! Do something!! She's not just a ship! Merry is a comrade who's been with us for a long time!! And it was the Going Merry who rescued us just now!!
Iceberg: Then it's time to let her rest! I've already done everything I can. Right now, I'm looking at a miracle. The miracle of a ship that has gone far beyond its limits. I've been a shipwright for many years, but I've never seen a pirate ship as incredible as this one. It lived a splendid life.
Luffy closed his eyes.
Luffy: I get it.
...
The Straw Hats (except Luffy), Franky, the Nephilim, Kokoro, Chimney, and Gonbe all stood in a lifeboat beside the Galley-La ship.
Luffy was in a smaller boat next to the Going Merry. He had a torch in his hand.
Luffy: Ready everyone?
The Straw Hats all agreed. (Y/N) and Robin gripped each other's hands.
Luffy: Merry, the sea floor is dark and lonely, so we're going to see you off!!
He placed the torch against the ship. It caught on fire.
Luffy: Maybe it's a good thing Usopp isn't here. He couldn't stand this.
Zoro: <to Sogeking> How about it?
Sogeking: We must all part someday. This is a farewell between men. I mustn't shed a single tear. Luffy himself is ready.
The rest of the ship quickly caught fire. They watched as the Going Merry burned.
Luffy: You carried us for a long time. Thank you, Going Merry.
Snow began to fall. Nami caught a snowflake and stared at it.
Nami: Snow...
She began to tear up.
As the Straw Hats stared at the burning ship, they remembered all of the memories they had with her. Chopper was crying.
As the ship crumbled into the water, they heard a voice.
Going Merry: I'm sorry.
Luffy: Huh?
Going Merry: I wanted to carry you even farther. I'm sorry. I wanted to have adventures with you forever...
Usopp began to cry through the Sogeking mask.
Galley-La: <shocked> A voice...?
Chopper: <crying> Merry?!
Going Merry: But I...
Luffy: <sobbing> We're the ones who should say we're sorry, Merry!! I'm no good at steering, so I ran you into icebergs! And I ripped your sails! And Zoro and Sanji are stupid, so they broke all kinds of stuff! Usopp would fix you every time, but he sucks at it! We're the ones who are sorry!!
Going Merry: Even so, I was happy. Thank you for caring about me.
Usopp, Nami, Chopper, Franky, Chimney, Gonbe, and Luffy were all sobbing now.
Robin felt a small tear fall down her face. (Y/N) gripped her hand and pulled her closer. She put her head on his shoulder.
Luffy/Usopp/Nami/Chopper: MERRY!!!!!
The Straw Hats watched as the Going Merry burned and sunk into the sea.
And through it all (Y/N) could hear the devil's gleeful inhumane laughter.
