Me and Gly have been best friends since higschool. Sabay kami ng Intermed, sabay na rin kami ngresidency training as pediatricians, naghiwalay lang kami sa fellowship trainings kasi iba ang gusto namin dalawa.

Umorder ako ng margarita, si Glyssa awat na daw kasi siya pa ang mgdrive. Bored na bored kami sa apartment namin kaya naisipan nmin pumunta sa isang resort dito na may bar sa may beach front. Masyado na madami ang tao kaya naisip ko kunin na ang bill, okay nman na daw si Glyssa na mgdrive nawala na effect ng tatlong bote ng alak. Nang tawagin ko ang waiter and signaled for the bill. He placed two cocktails on our table.
"I didnt order" i told the waiter and pushed the glasses back to him
"Pinapabigay po ni Sir Sandro Marcos "
"Sakanya?" And pointed at Glyssa.
She raised her brow at me
"Mam sainyo po and to your friend"
" i dont know him, i dont take drinks from strangers" i took the bill and payed with my card..
We were walking pass the exit when a man in a polo barong was infront of us
"Mam gusto po kayo kausapin ni sir"
"Excuse me?" I was trying to get pass him but he wont move
"Sino ba yan?" I asked irritated he led us to the VIP table.
They were a group of people clearly they all look expensive.. probably dumb. Trust fund babies
"You dont like the drink?" He smirked I must admitt he looked hot with his black button down shirt showing a little chest.
"I dont know you" i looked at him dead pan
"Im Sandro Marcos" he simply said. He was arrogant, pero ang gwapo talga.
"Dapat ba kilala kita?" I arched my brow the people in his table started to laugh
A girl dressed in a plunging black dress started to talk "Excuse yourself your talking to the next governor of Ilocos"
"Hindi naman ako botante dito" i rolled my eyes at her and i turned around and preceded to leave holding Glyssa's hand.
"Let her be Sandro her LV bag is probably fake, shes probably jobless" she said a little too loudly
yup that was it. Pumantig ang tengga ko
I looked at her and said..
"First of all its Goyard not LV" and i stormed out.
Gago yun! Walang trabaho talaga. Mukha ba kaming tambay?!.

Nagtawanan lang kami at umuwi na sa apartment.
We live in a 2 floor apartment. We opted for a 2 room apartment since Lito my cousin and Glyssa's boyfriend visits us from time to time.
After I showered, I opened my laptop to do more readings. Before I read I opened the search engine. I typed "sandro marcos" on the search button.
"Youngest congressman, old money, millionare playboy".. i shook my head. This couldnt be. Smells like trouble.
I started reading until i dooze off.
It was a monday morning at the regional hospital, the usual monday schedule. Flag ceremony. We had a meeting with our co-doctors. They talked about expanding the ICU, this was good news for me since their ICU is very out dated.
Dr. Perez was talking the senior consultant discussing her plans
"Dr Martinez, you were the chief fellow at your training institution im sure you know about making a budget proposal, can you make one for us to show the provincial?"
"Yes i think i can, for when?" Dagdag trabaho nanaman. I answered while playing with my pen
"Next saturday iha"
"Okay" shit agad agad..
Nagmeet kami for lunch outside ni Glyssa ang maganda pag specialist ka hindi ka na ngduduty hindi tulad nung resident ka. Yun nga lang on call ka.
"Bakit naka-kunot yang noo mo?" tanung ni Glyssa habang umiinom ng kape
"Gagawa ako ng budegt proposal para sa ICU" i answered with a heavy sigh
"Magaling ka nman doon ee" sabi niya habang ngumunguya ng pagkain
" sa sturday na ayaw ko nang ngmamadali" nakaka frustrate talga
Kumain kami ng lunch at ngkanya kanya muna kami ng trabaho. Umiikot ako sa ICU at ngrounds kasama ang mga residente.
After rounds I decided to go home. Ayaw ko masyadong lumalabas dito pag walang kasama.
Hindi ako familiar sa places hindi pa naman ako good with directions.
Wala pa si Glyssa kasi clinic niya ngayon. Nakahanap pa siya ng private hospital na pag-clinic dto. Ano nman maclinic ko halos dying at grabe na mga sakit ang mga patiente ko.
Pass 7pm na nung dumating si Glyssa.
"Elissa sa labas na tayo kumain ayaw ko mgluto" masungit niyang sabi
Natawa ako sa kaibgan ko alam nman niya na sa amin dalawa siya lang ang marunong magluto.
Nagbihis na ako sa ng jeans and a nude silk sleeveless top and my black valentino pumps.
We went to this fancy restaurant with a bar. Ofcourse there has to be a bar. Border line alcoholic ata kami ni glyssa. We tried their salmon steak and cocktails we were seated at the bar. When suddenly this guy dressed in a blue dress shirt and black slacks, he looks decent tall, suddenly went to my side.
"Hi miss, you look new here, me and my friends are hitting it up in a yacht later, if you want to join"
I raised my brow and almost threw up
"Does that line actually work?. Sorry not interested" and i went back to eating
"Feisty i like that in a girl" and he grabbed my arm
"Excuse you" i stood up and looked at him. He was smirking and licking his lips
I was about to say something when a group of guys came.
"Common Mike the lady said no" he was in a black short sleeved polo shirt and designer jeans and hermes belt. I caught a glimpse of the guy i previously met before. Ugali ata talaga nila mamick up ng babae.
I called the attention of the waiter and asked for our bill.
"Common on sweetheart" he grabbed my arm again
It was glyssa who spoke this time
"Hindi ka ba makaintindi, she said no"
The guy from last time grabbed his friend.
"Mike im warning you" he looked at me apologetic.
"Your warning me , is this because you like her too" this guy is clearly wasted. I got our bill and we left the bar.
"Bakit ganun ang mga ugali ng mga mayayaman dito" i asked Glyssa
"Lakas ng datingan mo kasi ate ee" she teased we went home to finish my report.
It was the day of my budget presentation, i wish my friend was here but she had to go home to our province to meet kuya lito, he just got home from singapore he just finished his masters degree.
What can i say we are a family of over achievers.
I was wearing a white off asymmetric top nd high waist tailored pants and nude heels. I wore it over my doctors coat so it didnt look so revealing. I was running a little late since i had an emergency referral this morning. Another patient on life support. Fuck i almost tripped on the broken pavement.
I was already at the back of conference room trying to prepare my laptop while Dr Perez was introducing me
"Took her BS biology major in marine biology for 2 years and transferred to the intermed program graduated with high honors. Chief resident at Fe Manalo during her residency training in pediatrics and chief fellow during her ICU training. May i inteoduc to you dr elisse martinez.
"Good morning everyone I am dr martinez Sorry for being late i had an urgent referral this morning. I looked up to the people I was meeting it was the guys from the bar, fuck talaga ba?! Do they run Ilocos or something. All of them were staring at me, dumbfounded. Well all of them looked dumb so no difference.
"Your the doctor?" This was the Mike guy from the bar
"Yes" i simply said
"Marine biology?" It was the governor, Mathew who asked
"Yes then I went thru the intermed program" i was getting annoyed
"Yes only 50 students are taken each year for the whole country" dr. Perez added
"I was also top 5 at the physicians licensure
Exam, top 1 at every residents exam with 2 published researches and i think dr perez
Forgot I have a masters degree in public health.
Hindi ako bobo... Okay na po ba tayo?" I was already annoyed
"Wow" i heard Sandro Marcos i think he was the Vice Governor or a Congressman I cant remember.
Dr perez was laughing. Did they think i was dumb.
I started presenting and showing them possible budget possibilities that was feasibile.
"How are you familiar with budget for local government?" Gov mathew asked
" kabit ako ng congressman dati" i said without flinching and raised an eyebrow. I think someone coughed out there coffee
"Seryoso ka ba?" It was mike who asked
"No, part ng course sa masters ko was budget"
"We are very impressed with your presentation and ofcourse you dr martinez" the governor said
Everyone was clapping while i just smiled and went back to packing my things.
" we will approve this budget, congressman sandro will be inchrage since its in his district" the governor said..
"Will you join us for lunch dr martinez?" It was congressman sandro who asked
"No sir, I have an emergnecy at the hospital i have to get to. If you will excuse me"
Actually wala nman talaga ako emergecny ayaw ko lang maki-lunch,. May nakita akong fastfood doon na lang ako.
I hurriedly walked out of the conference and straight to my car. I drove to the fast food and decided to just eat in my car. I remember the congressmans face. Gwapo, mukhang malinis, siya rin ata yung nag- aral abroad. Hay nako Elisse tama na masasaktan ka nnman hindi rin ako mgugustuhan ng ganun.. after ko kainin yung burger ko idecided to go to the coffee shop na nadaanan ko kanina.
I took a seat near the bathroom away from the crowd
"Dito lang ako coffee shop, text me pag done ka na sa clinic mo" i called Glyssa.
I was reading quietly when I heard a noise in the entrance. Oh god the whole entourage is here again. Nagkakataon lang ba or sinusundan ako ng mga toh? Sana hindi nila ako makita.
Shit I continued reading and pretending that wala sila jan.
"Hi" i looked up to see Congressman Marcos
"Hello sir" i simple said.
" i thought you had an emergency" he asked mukhang interesadong interesado
" wala nman talaga ako emergency, gustong gusto ko lang talaga umalis doon kanina" i told him honestly
"You dont like us, do you" he asked
"I dont like anyone congressman" this was amusing to him
"May i sit down?" He asked me
"If you must, let me continue reading"
We sat there quietly for about 15 min i occassionaly caught him looking at me which made me umcomfortable,.
"Hey its dr martinez! Youre here pala" he was one of the guys from earlier then came mike and gov mathew..
"Thats my cue to go" i packed my ipad and wallet and got my coffee.
I felt Sandros hand on mine which startled me,
Para akong nakuryente. "Can i see you again?" He asked
"Diba may next meeting pa for the hospital?" I said he just nodded and i left not waiting for him to speak
Nakakatakot yung kuryente na naramdaman ko, bakit ganun ang pakiramdam. No i have to shake it off. We do not need to fall for another rich playboy. Im just over it.
