"Hello? Are you there, sister? Can you hear me? Musa!"

Enola sighed, shaking her head as a small smile fell on her lips, causing her honey-brown hair to fall over her shoulders as she looked up at her sister, who was too interested in her phone to even notice her sister had been calling her name. Reaching up to take her headphones off, Musa looked over to her twin sister, as Enola excitedly pointing towards the Alfea school sign, "I was asking you how you felt? Finally being at Alfea?"

Musa lightly rolled her eyes at the most positive mind fairy she knew, "I guess," she sighed, squinting her eyes to look up at the wrought iron gate that held the letter A at the top, "New school. Same people, however. Same nonstop emotional soundtrack going on," she groaned.

"Like I don't hear everything you feel," Enola joked.

"At least you don't have to experience it," Musa sighed, her eyes glossy as she thought back to their last summer.

Enola wrinkled her nose at the mention of their abilities. In her opinion, her twin sister had always gained the better ability. The power to hear the music of everyone's inner emotions sounded amazing...far better than just hearing every single incessant thought that ran through their heads. At least Musa had the ignorance of not knowing where their emotions came from.

Enola may not feel people's emotions, but that seemed to only make her more empathetic to what their emotions were.

However, the mind fairy didn't let people's thoughts affect her...rather she tried not to...no matter how painful they often were. Instead, she decided to focus on her own, a task that seemed more daunting than one might imagine. Luckily she could always just focus on Musa's thoughts, which were constantly filled with blaring music from her phone.

"That is why were are here, though," Enola pushed, watching as her sister's lips formed a small grin, thoughts filled with love and only slight annoyance coming off of her.

"You are right," Musa nodded, before letting out a dramatic sigh, "but must you always be so incessantly positive?"

The honey-haired fairy simply smiled, quickly accessing her sister's thoughts to come up with the right thing to say before her sister cut her off, "And no reading my thoughts. It's not fair," Musa laughed.

Enola grinned, about to form a comeback before she was distracted by a new voice entering her mind. The fairy immediately set to focus on Musa's only but wasn't fast enough as she had already heard a single sentence.

'She's cute.'

The fairy was used to hearing simple comments on people's appearance and usually didn't take them to heart, but for some reason, she couldn't help but let her eyes flit around the area they were standing in, trying to find the source of the voice. However, she couldn't, and when she tried to access the boy's mind again, he was no longer there. It was as if he had left the premises.

'Odd,' Enola thought to herself.

"Enola, what's up? Who did you hear," Musa asked, her voice slightly concerned as she noticed a shift in her sister's aura.

Enola shook her head, blinking her eyes from pink back to blue as she looked over at her sister, "Yeah. It was so weird the voice was there for a second, and then it was gone."

Musa furrowed her eyebrows as she gripped onto her suitcase handle, "Maybe he went into the building?"

Enola chewed her lip thinking back to the location they were standing at. There was no door for at lead a hundred yards, but it would make sense if he did. Everybody knows that Alfea's walls block out any sort of magic.

Pulling her suitcase along with her, Enola followed her sister towards the building, "The voice was so loud when I heard it, though. How could he be so close to me then disappear in a second?"

Musa shrugged her shoulders, pulling her headphones back over her ears as they entered the building filled with teenage fairies all gossiping amongst each other about their summer breaks, "Who cares? Probably just some wanker, perving at some girl."

Enola nodded her head with a sigh, following her sister as they walked up to their dormitory. She knew that Musa was probably right and that she shouldn't care so much about it, but for some reason, she couldn't help but think that the boy was talking about her.

☹ ☻

Enola hummed to herself as she began to put away her clothes into the tiny closet that the Alfea students were given. Since Musa and Enola were twins, they gave the girls a special circumstance allowing them a bigger suite that would hold three people instead of two. The suite, however, was still small, leaving the girls little room for personal storage.

The room's little space may also be caused by their dormmate Terra, filling the entire space with plants.

It appeared that the twins shared a room with an earth fairy who was extremely passionate about her element. And by extremely passionate, Enola meant plants on every table shelf and corner they could fit. Dandelions, Begonias, Roses, Ivies, and any other plant imaginable scattered the floor and were even on Enola's elevated riser that held her bed making it a slightly difficult task to find somewhere to walk.

However, Enola didn't complain as she immediately heard Terra's fretful thoughts about how the girls would react to sharing a dorm with her. Musa was struggling, however, to ignore Terra's excessive social anxiety.

The entire dorm was filled with awkward small talk as all the girls appeared to struggle to get to know each other. Princess Stella, the head of the dorm who was supposed to be in charge of helping the girls get along and accustomed to life at Alfea, seemed extremely counterproductive.

Lightly nudging at one of the palms growing near the window sill, Stella looked over at Terra in the distance, "This is a shared space, Terra. The secret garden was a secret for a reason."

"Actually, that is not quite the message of the secret garden," Terra boasted, "If anything its a story about how the things are kept private, their benefits aren't fully appreciated," the earth fairy rolled on her heels as she looked at the princess with a wide smile, clutching a cactus to her chest.

Stella simply stood at her spot unfazed by Terra's fact and still did not favor the plants all around the dormitory. Terra seemed to catch on eventually as she nodded her head, "Okay," and began picking up a few of the plants from the room.

Enola looked up at her sister, through their room divider watching as Musa raised her eyebrow, tilting her head towards the scene that almost occurred in the main room. Both twins stare at each other for a few seconds before they burst into a small fit of laughter. The two were seldom interested in stirring up drama so it would be an interesting year living in a dorm with the princess of Solaria. Enola had just finished putting the last of her clothes in her drawer when she turned around to see Terra excitedly skipping into their dorm room.

Musa nodded at the girl before her eyes flickered to Stella, "She seems lovely," she sarcastically pointed out, causing Enola to laugh once again.

"You should ask her for lunch one day," Enola joked to her sister, whose thoughts were negative towards Stella, "I bet you would get along flittingly."

"Touche," Musa shot back before both twins looked over to Terra, who simply smiled between the two of them, obviously interested in joining in the conversation. Enola smiled at the earth fairy trying to make her feel more comfortable around the two.

"Is she always like that?"

"She is just having fun," Terra excused, although Enola could read that the earth fairy was lying to herself. The mind fairy grinned as she imagined how rich she would be if she had a penny for every person who denied the truth to themselves.

"I know it is a lot," Terra continued, "Shocker: earth fairy called Terra liked plants. It's a family thing," Terra nervously continued despite neither of the twins saying anything, "I've got a cousin called Flora, and my mum's called Rose, and my dad works in the greenhouse. That's why I know a load of the second years. I grew up in Alfea, so..."

Images of family members with earthy names flew through Enola's mind as her eyes faintly glowed pink, causing her to look down at her bed, trying to hide the fact she was reading her roommate's mind. It was often something she found was uncontrollable, but that never seemed to make people any less upset with her power. Plus she wasn't sure if telling Terra about her powers would make her thoughts worse than they already were. And that was not a risk worth taking.

"Why is Stella in our dorm of she is a second-year?" Musa asked, her tone not implying that she had any interest in the conversation other than merely trying to be kind to Terra.

"I don't know-Actually-I," Terra squeaked, immediately becoming flustered, "An administrative thing?"

Enola's eyes glowed pink at the same time her sister's glowed purple as they both immediately detected that Terra was lying. A small smile fell on Musa's lips as she moved to put on her headphones. Enola simply frowned as memories of the entire school gossiping about some accident with some Ricki girl appeared before her eyes. However, Terra's perspective was majorly clouded by sadness for not hearing the rumor firsthand through a friend.

Terra spoke up again after a few seconds, "I don't think we should mention it to her. However, yeah, kinda like a blanket statement, 'who cares?'"

Enola frowned as she looked over at the kind earth fairy, who she truly wanted to consider a friend. However, the mind fairy knew there was no way she could constantly be around Terra for longer than an hour without practically crawling into a hole from all the anxiety oozing out of her. Maybe once she learned how to control her powers, she would become friends with the tanned girl.

"Do you want a succulent?"

Enola sighed as she once again thought of how she could not handle Terra in large doses. Wearing a tight smile, she nodded her head, looking over at Mussa, who seemed to be struggling to remain calm.

"If I take it will you stop talking," Musa snapped.

Enola nervously laughed, causing Terra to do the same, "She is just joking with you, Terra. We'd love a succulent."

Terra let out a sigh of relief as she nodded her head, turning to grab a plant for both girls. Reaching to bring a succulent over to Musa, she nodded her head, "Very minimal and low maintenance just like you," she smiled.

Musa raised her plant in the air with a grin before placing it next to her, "Thank you."

Enola smiled, excitedly waiting for her own plant, which Terra pulled from beside her bed, "Pink hydrangeas. They are really fickle things: Terra bubbled, "Require more maintenance than they let on but extremely beautiful."

Enola furrowed her eyebrows, not understanding what Terra let on but happy nonetheless, "Thanks."

Turning to place the plant on her bedside, Enola quickly placed Musa's extra set of headphones over her ear before pointing towards the door. Slightly moving her body to move past Aisha, whom she knew was interested in Terra, the brunette walked towards the door, eager to get a break from all the different thoughts running through her head.

None of the girls questioned the small fairy as she walked out of the dorm, her earbuds concealed by her long hair, which she wore half up half down in the same manner as her sister. She didn't truly call attention to herself like Stella but also had the ability to stand out from the background, unlike her sister. She was hard to truly label and that made the girls not question her.
