All those years, watching from the window
All those years, outside looking in
All that time, never even knowing
Just how blind I've been

"Where are you taking me exactly?" Bede and Hatenna were currently on a pretty little boat being paddled out into a lake by Wooloo Ryder, or Hop, as he recently admitted to being called.

"Oh, nowhere specific." The raven haired thief shrugged his shoulders with a knowing smirk. "Just trying to find the perfect spot."

"For the lights?" The fair skinned man perked up, those big purple eyes sparkling with curiosity. Hop felt his heart skip a beat as he cleared his throat.

"Th-they're not lights, Blondie, they're Volbeats. Illumise leads them out into the night sky as they flash their lights. Ah, here we are!"

The honey-eyed man let the boat come to a stop and put the paddles down next to his feet. He had found a quiet spot with a perfect view of the moonlight sky and the castle of Hammerlocke itself.

"This way, you'll be able to see everything!" Hop smiled proudly.

Bede watched as suddenly a small bug flew up from within the castle, leading another bug with a bright light out as well. More of those same bugs began to fly out, creating that far away scene Bede had always watched from his father's tower in awe. It was breathtaking.

Now I'm here, blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here, suddenly I see
Standing here, it's oh so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be

"Blondie....? You ok there?"

Bede didn't answer. The fair skinned man kept his eyes on all the Volbeats illuminating the sky with tears streaming down his face. He's always wanted this. He's always wanted to see these lights and now it's finally happening. Bede didn't even care if he leaned too far off the boat at some point, all that mattered was his dream coming true.

And at last I see the light, and it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light, and it's like the sky is new

And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once, everything looks different
Now that I see you

"... thank you." Bede finally spoke up after a minute or so of staring, confusing the tanned man infront of him.

"Huh?"

"Thank you. F-for taking me out to live my dream, even after I took your crown away...."

"Oh... OH! Don't worry about it, I love coming out here every year."

"I wouldn't mind doing this every year myself..." The fluffy haired blonde turned to finally look at Hop again with those big, beautiful eyes, which were only highlighted by his tears of joy.

"Me neither..." Hop couldn't help but stare back for a few moments. Bede really was beautiful, wasn't he...

All at days, chasing down a daydream
All those years, living in a blur
All that time, never truly knowing
Things, the way they were

Eventually the honey-eyed man looked away, focusing on the Volbeat's lights instead, hoping his blush would die down.

"You know, I use to watch these bugs and get inspired, you know? They weren't told where to fly to or how brightly to glow, they would just do whatever. It kept me going..."

"I know how you feel. When father would punish me for having sore throats, I would sneak around while he was asleep to paint about those pretty lights. Painting keeps me sane when the lights can't."

"I saw part of what you'd done when I was tied up, they were gorgeous!" Hop earned an adorable blush from the smaller blonde. "You can sing and paint, you got all the luck, Bede."

"You... you said my name..."

"Huh?"

"You didn't call me blondie this time..."

Now he's here, shining in the starlight
Now he's here, suddenly I know
If he's here, it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go

Both men were silent. Bede took to petting Hattena with one hand as he went back to looking at all the Volbeats, resting his other hand on the edge of the boat. Hop wanted to look away at the Volbeats, the moon, anything else, but he stared at nothing else but Bede.

His hair was so soft and curly looking, like a cotton candy cloud, his eyes were such a beautiful shade of striking purple that Hop could get lost in without complaints, his skin so soft whenever he had to hold his hand, his voice so sassy and yet so sweet, like a spell Hop found himself constantly put under. Everything about him, perfect or imperfect, Hop couldn't help but admire. Bede was just... how could he put it?... perfect. Hop couldn't help but slowly place his hand atop Bede's free one, snapping the blonde back to reality.

"R-ryder..?"

"Bede, I've met many guys in my life before, but... I've never met anyone like you. You're sassy and sharp tongued, but you're also curious and sweet when you wanna be. It's honestly adorable."

The raven haired man managed to take Bede's other hand as well and intertwine their fingers, never breaking eye contact with those beautiful amethyst crystals Bede called eyes

And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted

"Wh... what are you saying?"

"What else could I be saying, Bede?" Hop gave a quiet chuckle from how innocent the fair skinned man sounded.

And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new

"I.. I love you, Bede... not your voice, not your looks, I love you."

And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted

".... I.... I... I love you too, Ryder..."

Hop let go of one of Bede's hands and placed it under the blonde's chin, slowly feeling himself inch closer to him. "Call me Hop."

All at once, everything is different
Now that I see you

Hattena turned away to give them privacy, slyly watching from the corner of her eyes.

Now that I

"Ok... Hop..." Bede murmured as the distance between their lips slowly closed.

See you.

Little things to know:

-Instead of having magic hair, Bede has a magic voice

-The Volbeats are suppose to replace the lanterns, didn't know if that was obvious (it most likely was but still)
