I felt you
Slowly and surely you edged me in
I could not resist the danger that came with being with you
You touched my soul
A part of me I have never wondered
And a piece of me I have never tasted

I came to the realisation that my world was too invested in yours, that cutting ties would not be possible
At least not in this lifetime
The ocean in your eyes I had dived into I knew I'd drown
The road we had taken together I knew I'd never drift away from

Eventually you'd realise that there was nothing more to take away from me
That all I was you had explored entirely
That all I am you had taken in avidly
Ultimately all that I'd ever be you had discovered
That dead end you would reach is one that I fear
That after all those sweet dreams you'd have to wake up
Leaving me with the stars that are many yet so far

Our love would be like spring
Coming only once in a lifetime
To allow the birds to chirp at our awake
And roses to beautify at our caresses
And summer to burn the life off the face of the earth at our departure

That's why when I saw you walk into my life I had to run away
I knew how the story would end
I had seen it in the determination in your eyes
One that would never stop until it had taken over me
So when you ever come looking for me and find that I'm gone
Know that our story was written in the sky
An endless revolt of excruciatingly sweet pain mixed with prodigal pleasure.
