Plot against the Lead

Havòk's POV

I witnessed all of the coup happen and ran back towards Viggo's tent, taking a way around for me to stay unnoticed. I gotta get back to them. I panted as I ran his hardest. I had to stop in my tracks when four men had me surrounded. Two in front of me and two behind me. There was no way to go for me. They knew I would warn Viggo and Ann.

Hitting me unconscious, the men took me to the cell compartments and threw me into the cell. I had nowhere to go now and was out of reach to warn Ann by screaming for her. I knew that. She is my best friend. "I'm sorry, Ann and Viggo." I let my head down as I started to feel guilty.

Viggo's POV

We were laying in bed as we were exhausted from such a hard day of working. The Riders did a formidable attempt to interrupt our operation, but we had the upper-hand in numbers. As we were almost asleep, we heard some loud cheering further up on the island. "What's that about?" Ann asked me. "I don't know, my beautiful blossom. Probably one of those drinking games again." "Ryker is winning, you think?" "It wouldn't surprise me." I smiled at her before I took her in my arms and we fell asleep.

The next few weeks that we were finishing the Project, I noticed Ryker had slightly changed his behaviour towards me and Ann. It was odd, he acted like Ann was the queen and I was her servant. Okay, I have to admit. Ann is my queen, but the way Ryker treats me compared to her, is way different from what I'm used from him. He was more distant from me and challenged my way of leading. 

All that seemed to fade away when we were going for a test ride with our new weapon. We were mostly concerned if the metal walls would withstand the immense pressure of the underwater world. Luckily, it held together and that was one of the biggest relieves I ever had. 

We were heading up to the surface to get some fresh air and stretch the legs. Ann stayed down while I took in the views around us. Ryker came standing beside me and brought my last defeat on the Riders up again. "How? How could you let them..." 

I didn't let him finish what he had to say and grabbed him by the throat, because it made me irritated again. I know for Thor's sake all too well what Hiccup is capable of and what he has done to us. "You never listen, do you brother?" I let go after my moment of anger ebbed away. "We are still right on schedule!" 

With that, we descended back down below to get to the others. We found Ann sitting on a chair and getting a massage from one of the men. "Well, seems you get special treatment for your pregnancy, don't you?" I said with a little laugh. "Letting her relax is key to bring a healthy child on the world." The man said to me and that left me wonder where Havòk was. 

"He couldn't come with us, unfortunately. I believe he went looking for his daughter." Ryker told me. "Strange. And leaving without telling me?" "He asked me, but I forgot to tell it to you." That was strange. I was the first person Havòk would go to if something was going on in his life.

We got back to the island and Ann and I went back to our tent straight away. As I looked over the last things necessary, I saw Ann rubbing her pretty round baby-belly and enjoy the feeling again. I came to her and kneeled in front of her, holding her by the sides and looking at her belly. I just can't wait to be a father again. 

"Just six more weeks." She smiled at me. I lifted her shirt and kissed the baby, covered by Ann's protective and delicate skin. She got distracted from something else however. "Viggo, I hear footsteps coming this way. Many footsteps." I could see fear crawl up into her eyes and I got up on my feet straight away. "Stay behind me." I held my arm in front of her to shield her off of any dangers ahead. The way she held on to me told me this was serious. "Whatever happens, stay behind me and try not to get hit. We can't risk another child to die after it has been born." I turned my face quickly to her when I heard someone walking in my tent.
