As Time Goes By

First day.

I start high school today. I'm not to excited because Ashley and her group will be in the same classes as me. They've been my bullies since elementary. Many times I've came home and was asked by my parents "awe, did they beat the Whore out of you finally?" or ask me "how was school today slut?" My parents are also my bullies. I'm 14, 5'2" and not the prettiest person in the world. (I'm really 16 but went back to freshman year) I guess I should get ready for today. Hopping in the shower, thoughts running through my head "is it worth it today, do I really need to go?" After a quick shower I get out throw on some mascara and pull my curly hair into I high ponytail. I decide on high waisted jean shorts and a blue crop top with my black low top converse. Looking at the time I see that I have ten minutes to get something to eat and head to the bus. I decide on an apple and toast. After I finish eating I run out to catch my bus and that's when I see him sitting in the back of the bus alone. He's new here I've never seen him before. I walk to my seat near the back and sit down. As time goes by more people get on and we get to school. I notice he never said a word to anyone he was on his phone the whole time. So when we got off I spoke to him
"Hi I'm Tiona, nice to meet you" - me
"Uhm hi I'm Adym, nice to meet you too."
"Do you need any help finding classes, let me see your schedule" - me
He hands me his schedule and I notice we have 5 classes together out of 8 in total. I show him what classes we have together and where the rest of his are. We have the same first period so we walk together. He then asks:
"What's it like here?"
Shit I have no choice but to answer that I don't want to lie to him and lose his trust and friendship but I don't want to tell him the truth and him think I'm trying for attention.
"Well this place is a nice school the teachers are all pretty nice and understanding. As for the students here... well it's different for everyone here you may gain a lot of friends or you may not depending on what people here see in you."
Perfect answer not a total lie. I hope he doesn't see right through that.
"So what's it like for you, I mean do you have a lot of friends here?" - Adym
Man this boy is pushing it. But I can't lie.
" I don't have many friends here I'm not what everyone sees as being a popular girl..."

"What about bullies are there any here?"
I am going to bash my head with my books if he doesn't stop with these questions...
"Yes there are bullies here their names are Ashley, Emma, Carolyn, and Jesse."
Ashley is the top person here Emma and Carolyn are twin sisters and then Jesse, Ashley's jock boyfriend.
"Okay thanks for telling me, I have a history with bullies."
Oh my god... was he bullied too. I don't want to ask I feel like that's not for me to know right now we just met. I hope he's okay and not still pained by it.

Class starts and everyone takes their seats. Adym sits next to me and I point to everyone telling him who they are. As Ashley and her crew walk in I tense up waiting for them to come torture me again. He looks at me and sees I'm scared. I gave it away... now he knows fuck! But he doesn't laugh or look away. He grabs my hand and says:
"Everything's okay I won't let them hurt you anymore."
If I wasn't blushing before I am now. No one has ever been so kind to me. But that's where it starts Ashley's seen him grab my hand and she yells so everyone can hear:
"Oh look the street rat finally has a boy toy, isn't he a handsome one too."
As she's looking at him I see the look in her eye that she gives Jesse. She wants Adym and she will get him no matter which way she gets him. I run out the class listening to all of them laughing. I thought he would chase after me but he didn't. He stayed in the classroom. I hide in the girls restroom until the bell rang. I run out to get to my next class without being seen, totally forgetting that he has the same class. I walk in and sit in my desk hiding my face in my arms not wanting anyone to see me cry. I feel a light tap on my back causing me to jump. I turn back and see Adym with a now blackened eye. And he sees me crying.
"Adym what happened to you?"
"I stood up for you I told them how kind you've been to me, that made things worse everyone laughed and Jesse punched me in the face..." -A
No no no I knew this was going to happen if I got close to him I can't let him get hurt over me I can't.
"Adym you can't do that you can't stand up for me we can't be friends... they'll come for you."
And with that the pain in his eyes deepen and he walks away. That's the last time we ever talked that the last I seen him except in the halls. He changed all his classes out of mine. That's it... he's gone.
