Her eyes widened as the reporter spoke of a gruesome murder that had occurred the night before. The victim was identified as Miranda Ray, a seventeen-year-old girl from Woodsboro High School. The news struck a chord with Sidney, and her heart sank as she learned about the chilling details of the attack. She immediately picked up her phone and dialed Dewey Riley, who was still the Sheriff of the Woodsboro Police Department, and her close friend Gale Weathers.
